My amazing psychic power tells my, you are having a GIRL
belladonna I predict a girl - for no other reason than I’m having a girl (due end of May 2003).
The ultrasound was so exciting and she even did a thumbs up just after we’d said her name (Anne-Marie) 
We got a video tape of the ultrasound and a couple of photo’s, which I have been showing to all my friends and family (finally payback for all those years of looking at their pictures).
I predict siamese fraternal twins, one girl and one boy. What kind of odds do I get?

Kricket– my last checkup the heartrate was 140. That was the first time the doc gave me a number (because I specifically asked) so I don’t know if it’s been about the same all along or has changed with time.
And auntie em–only 39 hours to go! Are you sure you don’t want to get a guess in?
leechbabe–what was involved in getting a video of your ultrasound? Did you have to request it specifically or pay extra, or was it just offered regularly where you went? That’d be a very cool memento to have, IMO.

I predict girl, because you were sick. There is some scientific evidence that morning sickness is more likely when carrying a girl. The Chinese chart thing that requires knowing the month you conceived and your age is also righter more than 50% of the time. I don’t have time to go looking for it right now, though… it sounds like dragongirl used it, though.
I also got a video of my ultrasound. All I had to do was bring in a blank cassette. The machine had a recorder built into it. I have been on other machines that did not, so call your doctor’s office and ask.
I predict boy.

bella I got told when making my appointment to bring in a video cassette with me. Apparently its standard part of the service. I’m planning to put together a time capsule for Anne-Marie and when she turns 21 I will give it to her as a birthday gift. It will include things like her ultrasound video and pictures as well as a newspaper from the day she was born etc.
Since my sister-in-law just got her ultrasound and found out she’s having a girl, I’ll guess the same for you.

(If the ultrasound is inconclusive, it’s definately a girl. We went through three or four before we could tell for sure.)

Thanks for the tips on the video guys, I’ll definitely be calling the clinic today to see if they offer that. I love your idea for a birthday time capsule for your daughter, leechbabe–but you’d better include a working VCR, just in case yours breaks down between now and then. Somehow, I don’t see them being on the shelves still in 21 years!
Did anybody pick “girl” yet? if not, I pick that. If someone already has, then…umm…I dunno. Giraffe.
As a variation on the puffy face bit, I have a friend who’s convinced that being pregnant with a girl absolutely screws up one’s face - starting with the spreading of the nose. I can verify this firsthand, since before my daughter was born her mother’s sneezes could have righted the Titanic.
Therefore, if your nose has gained a few inches horizontally, then I predict girl.
Smart thinking. My mom lost a shitload betting on “boy”. You gotta watch out for those long shots.
