Well, I’m sitting here drinking my fourth glass of water and waiting for my sister to come pick me up. She’s going with me so there’ll be someone to get all squealy and excited with me. 
Only a little over an hour to go!! I could barely sleep last night I was so excited, and when I finally did I dreamt about missing my appointment. I felt like a little kid on Christmas Eve.
As of now, after a virtual explosion of girly votes, the tally is
GIRL – 13 BOY – 6 GIRAFFE – 1,
not including the multiple sets of multiples all you sadists are wishing on me. Or poor Jamie Lee. 
Thanks so much for playing along everyone! It’s been fun, and I promise to post as soon as I get the results. Keep your fingers crossed that we get a nice spread-eagled shot.

For what it’s worth (and not to hijack, but some of the same people who read the pregnant dopers and doper moms thread are reading this thread - well I can now say for the first time in my life that (gulp) I’ve had (oh horrors) Unprotected Sex . and on purpose, too…

Unfortunately, the clinic didn’t provide videotaping, but I did get a whole stack of still shots to take home and show off. It’s funny, I was so set on girl-thoughts that I thought I’d be terrribly dissapointed if it turned out to be a boy but I’m not, at all. He just looked so cute during the ultrasound, and he wiggled and squirmed the entire time. At one point, he started playing with himself and the tech goes “Yep, definitely a boy!”
Now I get to think about names–I love names. My first son’s named after my father so I didn’t really get to pick and choose with him, but now I’ve got a world of names to choose from. How exciting!
Augustus, Jasper, Zane, Sebastian, Quinn…how’s a girl to choose?!
And for all of you looking for girl names, I can now give up my two top choices since I won’t be needing them— Odessa and Amelia–so pretty, I think.
And good luck to you Cricket! May you soon be fat and uncomfortable, just like me!
CONGRATS! And as for names, I’d avoid the trendy ones. Or anything impossible to spell. Though people are well able to screw up even a simple name…my ex’s last name is Mann, and he swore to me that people dropped the second “n” constantly!
My mother tells me that if my brother had been born first, I wouldn’t have happened. Eek!
