I don’t think there’s any solid public evidence that umkay and notokay are the same person, although that’s presumably nearly everybody’s assumption.

My quick take:
Isn’t it generally true that people with severe disabilities would probably want to avoid a lot of extra attention towards their disability? That they would prefer to just become “one of the gang” and put the focus on their thoughts on this topic or that, without instituting a multi-page pity party all about them? How do Dopers with such disabilities feel on this issue?

Actually, if she has any sense, that’s where umkay will go next. She can be a fabulously wealthy beautiful nordic princess who has a C4 SCI caused by a truck load of Jews, and who is now looking for advice on how to build a bunker and survive in the post-Obama wasteland.

I don’t keep my crutches and wheelchair any sort of secret, and will discuss health issues but they are not that big a thing. I don’t start every post with something about the crutches or chair. I post a lot about food, books, being into historical recreation. Maybe a fair amount about movies and tv.
