Un-curly hair

I, your humble Friedo, being a Superstud, have very long hair. I have fluxuated hair length quite a bit in my day, and I’ve noticed that when it gets quite long, it becomes annoyingly curly and no longer looks Superstudly. So I want to know if there is a good way to make my hair as straight as possible without making it short again.

And before you say it, no, I’m not going to iron it. That scares the hell out of me.

It could well become a process you don’t want to deal with on a daily basis, but I have 2 ways that I straighten mine, when I decide that I want it straight. Also, I have hair that is very curly if left to dry completely naturally. We’re talking the spiral curls, so neither of these works completely. I always have some wave to my hair. With my hair down to my shoulders, the blow-drying process takes 30-45 minutes. The other can leave my hair still damp at 7PM.

  1. Frizz-ease hair serum. Use a litte throughout your hair, and blow dry your hair. Keep the flow of air pointing down your hair shaft, to smooth the cuticles. Use your hair brush to pull it out straighter, but not so hard that you pull it out of your head. :stuck_out_tongue: If you have thick hair, twist the top part up, dry the lower layers, then repeat the process on the top hair. With this method, your hair has to be completely dry, or it will just try to curl again as it finishes drying.

  2. If it’s long enough to pull back in a ponytail, then put it in a low, loose one. Let dry, and hope it comes out straight without any funky bumps the way mine always seems to.

  3. Hi Opal!
Of course, you could always shave your head.

If Beyonsay from Destiny’s Child has straight hair I guess it is not natural and she must have gotten it done at a salon, which would be my recommendation for you. They can straighten your hair permanently, at least until it grows out. Trust me, it won’t damage the hair too bad unless you go to a place that has no idea what they are doing. Dyeing is what causes the most damage.
