I just got this game and it’s easilly the best FPS I’ve ever played. Are there any Dopers who play this? Anyone want to have Doper games?
Has anyone found any new Adrenaline combos?
Some geek friends of mine and I get together annualy to play various games (Settlers of Catan, homebrew miniature war games). We did a little LAN gaming in 2003 but this year was the 1st we did some serious LAN gaming. The game was UT2004 (demo)
We started out just playing deathmatch but that got boring so we switch to CTF. (we sometimes played deathmatch to assign the teams for CTF) But then we tried Onslaught. And that really met with great enthusiasm. Even among the the initialy hesitant about vehicles. Started out teams (again chosen by deathmatch results) but then we play agaians computer opponents (increasing the difficulty untill it was a challenge but not impossible to win)
I think the Unreal people may have made the demo too good. There was enough in it to keep us occupied for 15+ hours.
I haven’t played it much since, just solo to get used to the vehicles.

by the way, whenever we fell off the bridge in CTF, we called it a “Gandalf”.
As in “I just Gandalfed” or “oh nooo – Gandalf” 
I’ve had the game for a while. Initially I loved it, but it’s kind of getting stale (and I am not showing any signs of improvement) The majority of it’s users are improving faster than me as I don’t play it often enough. it’s getting to the point where I lose every one-on-one and can’t be arsed to download the new levels.
I do still have the occasional fun time on it though.
I play offline, because bots tend to have better interpersonal skills than people you find on public servers. Unfortunately, the single-player campaign is crippled by some horrid team management system (with money! :eek: and injuries! :mad: I just want to kill things in a tournament!). Grab the Greed mutator and Jailbreak mod for a lot of fun.
If you just go to “instant action” or some such you can play however you like. I have played through most of the single player stuff and I have about $20l left so I don’t really worry about the money. I think it’s kinda fun to get new players on your team and such.
I don’t really like CTF. Death match and onslaught are so much more fun. I really like bombing run too. I’m happy with my purchase. 
I’ve been practicing with the new ECE vehicles in Onslaught, and I’ve got the SPMA down pat.
Start a server and let me know the name- I’ll join. I play in the evenings after 11 EST, but I can join in at other times.
I just wish I could play with my fellow dopers, but the ping is too high.
How do you get the ECE vehicles? I see on the web site that there is a patch available for all of us who didn’t buy the ECE version of the software, but the damn thing doesn’t have the patch linked! Grr…
So, anyone up for a game?
