Speaking as a Wiccan, he was no Wiccan. I knew as much of the “actual” Wicca that he cites within hours of my beginnings.
I think he’s just saying he was many of these things, (maybe not all of them, but many…), to be able to rant on them. Maybe he figures that bearing false witness is a lesser evil than those he may have a hand in helping to vanquish.

Um, Heathen DJ, you DO realize that Bowers and Landover are SATIRE, right?
Probably because it’s much easier to try and convince someone (especially a child) that anyone who doesn’t believe like they do is a bad, evil, vile person than to acknowledge that they just believe/think something different.
I can remember being a child and hearing my grandparents talk about black people and once I became close friends with someone who happens to be black when I was 6 years old I thought “Boy…she’s just like me…she isn’t all the things I grew up hearing.”
Same deal with Christians vs. “everybody else.” I grew up thinking people who had no religion were awful people. I now know this to be false. They just believe differently than I do or don’t hold to the same things I believe in.
I grew up thinking people who were gay chose to be that way and they all were the stereotypical over the top characters like television has shown. Again, a myth…not true.
I treat all religious pamphlets handed out the same way I do perfume samples in the mall. I politely take it and thank them then throw it away when I see a trash can. No harm. No foul. But I am an adult…not a child on Halloween.
I personally would never hand out religious literature on Halloween. It isn’t my job to try and teach other people’s kids about religion and I would be horribly offended if someone took it upon themselves to teach my child about their beliefs without my permission.

Of all the reading of all the posts, I JUST NOW went to look at the “annual” Halloween message from chick dotcom. (it looks suprisingly like last year’s message…).
I just happened to notice, in his category list, under products, he lists: Tracts, English, and NON English. Not “other languages” or even “foreign languages”. Sensitive guy. A real renaisance man!
I’m going to have to go back and see if they’re offered in Klingon.
