I have been wondering alot and sending loads of good vibes towards one of our favorite dopers Washte and was wondering if anyone has heard any updates on her pregnancy.
The last pregnancy news I saw about her was here.
Just want to add I hope things are still going well for her! So add my good vibes in too
Thanks for wondering Shirley and for the good vibes (you too, tanookie).
Washte and the chavvie are doing quite well at the moment, just over 14 weeks and counting.
D’you have a LJ? Washte posts about her pregnancy quite a lot in hers - Link
One thing:
Why am I never regarded as a favourite doper, huh? Okay so I’m thick as pigshit and twice as stinky, but still…
Glad to see she’s off bedrest and back on her feet I hated bedrest completely!
I don’t have a LJ… I’ve only seen 2 including hers after following the link
How sweet!!!

As Kal mentioned, we are doing well. Just about 14 1/2 weeks now. Beginning to feel flutters and getting excited about actual kicks and gymnastics.
I’ve been referred to the hospital for my OB care, and being diabetic, am attending a special clinic for both. Been put on insulin and, up until last week, hcG injections twice weekly.
Doc has said I can become more active now - YAY, and can go back to work in about 2 weeks.
One of the main reasons I’ve not posted much is that because this is the biggest thing happening at the moment, it is all I have to talk about. We all know how inane it can become to hear someone talk about only one thing, day in and day out. So, most of my waffling is left for my LJ.
Also, the hormone injections made me feel extremely cranky, and it seemed everything and everyone was getting on my tits a bit too much. Did not trust myself to post.
Thank you both for the good vibes. They’re always welcome.
Hope things are going well for you too tanookie. Getting anxious yet?
Anxious? not really… I’m just tired of being pregnant! My mantra is October 28 cannot come soon enough!
The hospital I go to for my OB care is wonderful and I am seen in the diabetic clinic even though I am not diabetic (I have kidney disease instead) so I always get the 'you aren’t diabetic? Why are you here? questions.
We’re onto weekly monitoring now until baby comes! We had a fun appointment last week and I posted a bit about ithere.
I understand about the insulin but what do the HcG injections do?
Oh and just wait until those flutters become acrobatics I keep trying to explain to him that I will be needing those organs when he’s done in there! It is really neat to watch your belly ripple as the baby moves around though.
You’re also allowed to be cranky That’s when people bring you ice cream.
From my experience, they made her as cranky as hell. I’m sure they have other effects too, but that’s the one I remember for some reason.
The hcG was to hopefully increase blood flow to the uterus and provide sufficient hormones and stuff to the baby. Had a thread about it back in July.
I can’t wait until we can both feel and watch the baby movin’ about. The puppy should get a kick out of it as well
Quite eager for my 20 week scan mid-October. The scans are so wonderful to watch.
Wow that was an interesting thread. Good luck and keep us posted
Thanks. I’ll post about progress perhaps after the 20 week scan.
At least my cravings so far aren’t too weird - mostly fruit, taffy (chewy things), and the occasional sweet. Nothing bizarre… yet…
Okay, I fibbed on the occasional sweet… I’m making oatmeal and snickerdoodle cookies this weekend.
Yeah for such hopeful news!
And isn’t it like a man to whine, whine, whine when all the attention goes towards his wife. Who knew that the sex that leads the world (cough) are really a hot house flower in need of such tender care. Bunch of nancyboys.
My cat used to sit on very pregnant tummy and when bubs kicked or moved the cat would poke my stomach very confused.
My kitties are pretty irked because I have no lap anymore and they hurt me if they sit on the belly.
My daughter isn’t happy with my lack of lap either! She also gets pretty freaked out about my belly and doesn’t eant to touch it.
Glad things are going so well for you, Washte.
Best of luck to you as well, tanookie.

Another fun thing to do when the kicks and flutters get good and strong…lay down on the couch with a remote control on your tummy and pretend it’s a pirate ship. Every so often the ocean will SURGE and as the “ship” rocks you can yell “AVAST! HARRRRRR!”
Okay, maybe I’m the only one who thinks that’s fun…
When I put on a pirate voice and say, “AVAST BEHIND!” Washte hits me.
That sounds like fun Hamadryad - odd, but fun
Casey does this weird thing where she noses (nudges) things of interest. I can just imagine her laying next to me one day and then find her nosing my belly with a very perplexed look on her face.
Kal will probably have me put the bump in the middle of his back for a massage of sorts
We’re off to another ante-natal appointment on Wednesday. Can hardle wait to see the wee one again.
:::::::::::::bump:::::::::::::::
I wanted to get further updates on Washte and her hot house flower, the effervescent Kal
As well as the *female doper who had gotten in contact with her father that she hadn’t heard from since she was very little. * ( sorry, I thought I bookmarked the thread.) He was a cop. It’s vague, but that’s my life.
Washte is about 24 weeks pregnant.
We have another ante-natal appointment tommorow. Because Washte is diabetic, we go to a special clinic at the pregnancy assessment center every two weeks where she gets scanned. Last time we went, the doctor who did the scanning mentioned that the amount of amniotic fluid seemed a bit low. That’s caused a bit of worry.
We’ve found out that the baby, previously known as Spud, is likely to be a Spudette. I now frequently wake in the middle of the night after suffering Barbie related nightmares.
Spudette is kicking and wiggling like a monkey. I think a career as a soccer player is in order as one of her hobbies is taking penalty kicks using Washte’s bladder as the ball.
The due date for Spudette is March 1st. I am hoping for her to be born on Feb 29th as it will save me a fortune on birthday prezzies but, with the diabetes and all, the chances are they will deliver her a few weeks before that.
Other news: I’m trying to quit smoking. I have certain health issues and my doctor, who is also a family friend, has told me that if I don’t quit then I won’t be around to see Spudette grow up.
I’ll tell Washte that this threads been bumped and she may add more information.
When VunderWife was carrying the VunderKind, we had a cat that bit her belly kinda hard because of the kicks. She had a helluva time explaining that one to the OB…
