Urbanredneck’s homophobic assertions would be appropriate (per the spirit of the board, IMO) in a discussion about whether homosexuality is acceptable, or whether gay marriage should be acceptable, or some similar issue debate, but I don’t think it adds anything to the discussion in question, which was about Mother’s Day. I don’t think it’s appropriate at all to suggest that a parenting challenge is due to the sexual orientation (or race, or religion, etc.) of the parent (in a thread started by the parent) unless that parent makes it part of their question.
The grand irony here, is that tapu’s son may very well be acting out on Mother’s Day because he has two moms and no male influence in his life.
Sure, it’s not the type of thing we want to acknowledge could exist, but hiding in the sandbox with our fingers in our ears is a piss-poor way to deal with our problems.
(With regard to the plethora of homophobic statements he has made, I generally support this pitting)
You assume my son has no male influence in his life. And that that’s why he’d ignore Mother’s Day. Not only is that illogical, but your groundless assertions are among the stupidest shit I’ve had to hear about this. When we’re fighting ignorance, we’re fighting you.
The fact that you wear that a sign of pride is another reason I don’t plan to apologize to you any time soon. You’re trolling, and trying to make the thread about you. God forbid we talk about another bigot.
