Useful Idiots: How many of you still think invading Iraq was a good idea?

I suspect a whoosh.

Just stay off my lawn!

I took that post more as sarcasm than trolling.

So by your definition, anyone who makes a sarcastic post is a troll? Or just anyone who disagrees with you?

When you whoosh upon a star…

It’s trollcasm. Makes you think, makes you pace around and scratch at the walls …

I’ve got the perfect lawn ornaments for you.

Makes for a refreshing change from those damn monkeys, dunnit?

That sounds good at first glance, but history shows that nothing occurs in a vacuum, so it is a silly idea; to begin, Saddam was a sworn enemy of Iran, the invasion, if somehow manages to get us a peaceful Iraq, will in the end bring us a government based on groups that are closer to Iran.

And then there is the matter of the growing democracies that were pointed out by bush (in 2005) as being directly caused by the invasion of Iraq: Palestine and Lebanon! Can Bush pick them or what? Of course that somehow has gotten into a convenient memory hole.

One result of the unjustifiable Iraq invasion is that extremists have (if flawed) convincing arguments to make even moderates vote for extremists into positions of government in the ME.

And that lead to the Lebanese fiasco, but this is Iraq we are talking about, so why point to all that ? Because all that is cross fertilizing:

Last month tens of thousands of Shiites thronged in Baghdad protesting the US and Israel, wouldn’t you know that the Shiites of Iraq (the majority that was happy from being freed from Saddam) have a certain kinship with the Shiites of Hezbolla? I do have the feeling that was one big reason why Bush finally got out of his tush to do something about ending the violence in Lebanon. I do think that by staying in Iraq we are being forced to not deal properly with the threats in the region.

Spain lost many men in Afghanistan, and they are still there fighting against the men that supported or organized 9/11. As the orders for the last plot against American airlines came from Pakistan, the Spaniards are indeed fighting terrorists more directly than what the US is doing, we are continuously furnishing the material that is building from scratch an unnecessary second front the longer we stay in Iraq.

If Iraq had a bunch of treadmills, would we invade by land, sea or air, and would Bush eat horse for a month?

Here, boy, have a biscuit.

Now go sit in the corner and don’t disturb the adults.

Adults in this administration? Where?

I like Ice cream!

I’ts late enough at night, and I’ve had enough wine, that I’m going to post an unvarnished opinion of the type I really don’t post often. I think 'em, but I don’t post 'em.

Threads like this one make me think some people need to masturbate more. Maybe if there was more actual beating off, with blissful release, there would be less of the intellectual beating off. I’m not just talking about the Bush-haters either; just the same topics being beaten on over and over and over and over . . . . makes me think some people would benefit by some alone time with a dirty magazine or a battery-operated toy. Know what I mean?

So, ummm… What are you wearing?

Not really. We on the left are so thoroughly drenched in sex, one would have to be determined for masturbation. As you know, 85% of Viagra is purchased by Republicans. You could look it up.

It’s Friday night, so I’m wearing a fez, a dog collar, a cone-breasted bustier, a tutu, chaps, and swim fins. Of course.

Viagra Ice Cream. [sup]TM[/sup]

Test tasted by Republicans! Accept no substitutes!

Gives a whole new meaing to the term “hard right”

Jodi, I think, has a point (I save the fez for Saturday, but whatever).

But since I haven’t offended anyone in several hours -
Hell yes Iraq was a good idea! Ask the Kurds.
If we would have treated Iraq as a real war rather than a chance to build a democracy for the oppressed people, I think we’d be out of there and the world would be a better place. Saddam was in constant violation of those UN things and showed no indication that he’d ever have anything but contempt for the international community or his own countrymen. Papa Bush should have finished the SOB off when he had the chance, Clinton should have finished him off, Baby Bush should have let his generals run the war.

And any other nations that are as “stable” as Iraq was should be taken out ASAP.

Invading Iraq was a great idea, pissing around over there for 5 years while holding their little hands so they can destroy what’s left of their own society, not so much.
That kinda what you were looking for RedFury? Or more like this - The President backed down like a beat puppy when the Chinese stole one of our spy planes and so he had no choice but to show some strength after 9/11, and Iraq was a natural choice.
