Ok, I got myself registered and I want to change my user name, I sent an email to MEBuckner with this request, no reply as of yet but not to worry it was only yesterday. Last night I notice this thread where TubaDiva states “Please send me an email AFTER you have subscribed asking for a name change and I’ll get it taken care of.” Ok that was last night. This morning I also see Ed posting this " That said, we don’t mean to be rude. E-mail me at edzotti@aol.com and tell me what you want your name to be."
Ok so far I haven’t sent an email to Ed though I have sent an email to MEBuckner and TubaDiva, I appreciate that they simply may not be near there computers or whatever but I am wondering if the fact the my email address is subscriptions@ possibly a reason for not getting a response? I know some people when they see an email address that reads “subscriptions@” they some times tend to just delete first even before reading the email title. Or should I just change my email address?
If it’s the same email address that you have registered here, it shouldn’t be a problem, but I cou8ldn’t say for sure what people think when they see your address ;). But I’ve been told by both Lynn and Tuba that you should include “SDMB” and your username in the Subject line when corresponding, so they know it’s board-related.
My email headers have both read exactly “SDMB User name change request” but one of the admins or mods had mentioned that they personally dump spam before reading the email and seeing that “subscriptions@” is normally an indicator of spam then…
Just wondering if an email change might be in order but then if a reply did come and I have deleted the account or changed subscribed account??? Mod thinks no valid email address…
That’s why I ask. Or should I just give it a while.
