Username/Doper misunderstandings!

People often make the assumption that I am a 12yo girl because of the characters used in my name. It is not far from the truth because my, at the time, 12yo neice made it for me…(I am actually a 32yo m)

I have weird visuals of lots of names here but they are too numerous and hard to describe.

Well, Meatros for example reminds me of that SNL skit with the Greek resteraunt guys who always say “you lika da juice, yes?” when they go on a quest to Mt. Olympus to pray to a god of juice…I can’t remember the name of the god but I think Meatros in my mind!

There are more…so many more…brain hurts…must take nap now…

Actually the assumption I made from seeing your username was that you were a fairly young woman (25-35) who is an artist. I also invisioned you wearing one of those french black hats, that sort of look like berrets.

Again, the accuracy of the assumptions are outstanding!

Mangetout tells an amusing story about a misunderstanding about his username. Very amusing. He should come in here and put that link up.

I get Mangetout and mangeorge confused all the time. I call Pucette Pursette all the time-- to her face, even and I don’t know why, but even after he said it wasn’t so, pizzabrat is a teenaged girl in my head.

The username Lsura looks like Laura

Oh, no!

You put "Mangetout and “username” in the same post. The same sentence even.

Any minute know he’s going to come in here and go on about how no one ever registered as Atomic Badger Racing.

um, I think you will still have to be more specific…

Some of the ones that got me:

bdgr- went to a dopefest and heard people referring to this guy as Badger. I had no idea who he was - I always read his names as initials.

also,

Mouthbreather - I keep reading this as “Goomba” for some reason.

[sub] you know I kid ya breatheybabe[/sub]

::chokes on his baked ziti, then ruins his rayon shirt::

Ad me to the list of people who had trouble with mangetout. Mange-wha? I finally read it as man get out (which I assume is correct) about 2 weeks ago.

This is what I like about my name. It’s hard to mistake for something else.

I think Mangetout is French for “Eats everything.” Mange tout. I’m probably wrong.

Everyone refers to me as MrInvisible. I get all huffy when that happens.

Whoa. I read Mangetout as French for, roughly, “eats everything.”

The saga continues.

Too true. Give me any hobbit, and I’ll perve. Currently, I’m on a Sam fetish. Give me a week, and I’ll be singing the praises of Merry.

[Sam]Darn tootin’.[/Sam]

Mangetout means for his username to be French for “eats everything”. I’m sure of this because of that thread from long ago where there was the misunderstanding. Mangetout linked to it once, but I won’t do it unless he comes in here and says it’s OK.

It’s pretty funny, though.

Hmmm, and here I thought **Mangetout ** likes peas. A lot.

See, now, I can never figure out if I’m supposed to read it

“Elleno”

Or

“Noem”

or

“emgone”

or what.

Everytime I see iampunha I think it says “I’m a Puma” which makes me laugh and think of the Smothers Bros.

 Yes I thought the same thing, djxiii!

I have to remember that lno and Elenfair sound alike. Then I know it isn’t Ino.

And I’m sure everyone reads Dangerosa as some form of Danger Red - and almost no one knows about the 12th century woman I stole the name from.

Originally thought that Mangetout was man-get-out until I went shopping and saw mangetout in the vegie isle. They are like snow peas and pronounced ‘mahnj too’… Funky French word.

Dangerosa: Your username reminds me of Danger Mouse.

Washte: Your username intrigues me. It makes me think of washing clothes using stones by the riverside?!
