When using the down arrow, I am first taken to the OP for a mini second, then it goes to the first new post.
This started about two weeks ago. Before you would go immediately to the first new post.
Why the change?
The “first new post” hasn’t worked for me for a while, maybe a month or more. It takes me to a post just a couple of hours old, skipping over a day’s worth of posts that I hadn’t read.
Yeah, “first new post” has always been tricky. It will work great for a while, then will take me to an almost random spot in the thread for a bit, then go back to working great.
I think this only happens to me when the page is slow to load. While you’re still sitting on the OP, is your Page Loading indicator for your browser still spinning?
You mean the “<Go to some random post>” button? :smack:
Sometimes it’ll take me to where I left off, sometimes it takes me to some post between where I last saw the thread & some post prior to the most recent one. However, if the thread has rolled to a new page it [del]almost[/del] always takes me onto some post on the new page even if there were a bunch that I had not yet seen on the old page.
But isn’t this a waste of resources?
I joined the Board in 2002. Every once in a while I try “go to first new” just for giggles. It has never once worked.
It would be nice if it did, but I’m not holding my breath.
