V: 1.12 "Red Sky", SEASON FINALE, (open spoilers)

Well, like I said, it’s either a matter of SuperTorture (weird stuff…butt stuff…) or Marcus is 5C.

I think the writers consider it poor form for a V episode to not have at least one major plot hole per episode (and hopefully at least more than 3!)

Tell me – do any of you actually care what happens to the humans in this show?

The ‘good guy’ adults have repeatedly done such stupid things I think they all deserve to die. The guy in love with the alien chick, well, he’s stupid, too, but adolescents in love mostly are so I’ll give him a pass.

Finally watched the finale. My conclusion is this show is interesting, it’s innovative, but it requires so much suspension of disbelief. The could do a 30 minute long SNL “Really?!???” clip on each episode. The V’s technology seems to vary between amazing and non-existent. Too much happens in each episode. That is rarely a complaint I have.

As far as caring about the characters, I care about the priest and FBI mom. Ryan, somewhat. Joshua seems like a good guy. FBI mom’s son is annoying but realistic too. Wish she would just tell him the truth, won’t it save him more heartache in the future?

Great question, actually. Now that I think about it, no, I don’t care a white for any of the humans.

Anna’s smokin’ hot daughter, OTOH…

Now that you mention it, no. No I don’t give a crap about any of the humans. Personally, I’m rooting for Anna’s daughter to take over in a massive bloodbath and start her reign of terror.

Joshua did address her as “my queen” just like he does with Mama.

This would be an awesome new direction for the show. I’d like to see her keep Anna caged up in her office / throne room for occasional torture sessions and taunting.

She could do the really obvious things like covertly add advanced surveillance cameras on all the ships, resulting in overnight elimination of all 5th column Vs. Anyone found still loyal to Anna would similarly be dealt with. She could smugly tell Anna how simple and effective that solution was.

I want the heroes to escape the initial purge. I would like Lisa to cozy up to Tyler and have him blurt out something incriminating that Lisa uses to capture Erica. Then I want Lisa to order Erica be tortured on the spike bed in front of a helpless Tyler after she thanks him for the information he gave.

I’d love a scene where Chad Decker comes up with some cockamamie scheme where he thinks the Vs will need him only to be slack-jawed dumbfounded  when told “no thanks, we got this covered”. Then the V’s implement a military takeover using their massive numbers of motherships and the overwhelming force of their advanced technology.

I want to see Kyle Hobbes sell out his buddies so he can ingratiate himself with the obvious winning side. I’d like to see Lisa order Kyle to murder the priest and other innocent humans and he does it without a second thought.

Okay, maybe that’s too much for network TV, but I think a lot of people would make damn sure they didn’t miss the next episode.

Count me in. That would be awesome.

Well, Erica is hot at and Priest seems like a good guy who is just way out of his depth.

That said, the fact that we have a professional infiltrator (Ryan), a federal agent, and a professional fugitive, yet they all seem to have less ability to conceive and execute plans than most cub scout troops makes it a hard show to watch at times.

She can completely discredit the priest without physically harming him. Just frame him for child molestation.

I just watched this on Hulu and this scene has me convinced that the writers have absolutely no long term plan. One of the things I do every week is rewrite the episodes in my head to create a better show, because the seeds are there, but the plot holes and extreme leaps are just jarring.

But I’m in for season 2, I wanna see what the Red Sky is all about.

I thought that was a smoke screen to hide the advancing fleet from view.

I thought that it basically was the advancing fleet – lots and lots (and LOTS) of spaceships entering the atmosphere – and heating up, making the heat shields glow – all at once.

So, massive amounts of re-entry friction.
