“Modern pewter from Western countries is safe” to drink from. Old pewter made with lead? Not so much.
Have faith in the Lord of Light; fire burns away impurities. ROFL!
As long as we’re here,I want to change my prediction. I said that Varys would turn out to be Rhaegar, but no, it’s Jaqen H’ghar. Unless they are all three the same. Also possible.
 :smack:
OMG, that’s it! The dragon has three heads!
Rhaegar=Varys =Jaqen

While we wait (Man, now both the book AND the TV series are taking FOREVER!) here’s Game of Thrones if it was anime.
people think he’s going to put out 2 more books? If he does it will just be for the cash.
and please spare me the “well the books will be the real story unlike the TV version”
I don’t know about others, but for me personally, yes, the books will be the “real” version because there’s an enormous amount of detail that they would never be able to put into a TV series.
It’s not over for me until I know what’s happened with all the characters and minor plotlines that are still ongoing that (1) were left out of the TV series or (3) can’t be resolved in exactly the same way as the TV series resolved them because things are just different in the books.
The books will be the real story from the books. Although the show and the books are very, very similar, they are also very, very, VERY different. Why are you shitting on the books? One is not superior to the other.
P.S., he will die before he finishes the books.
GRRM has more money than he knows what to do with. Literally – if you follow his blog, he periodically does things like buy the original Robby the Robot prop, or purchase some warehouse and turn it into a studio for struggling artists, or buy land for a wolf conservation non-profit, or buy the local movie theater because it’s about to close and (by all appearances) run it at a loss. Maybe he’s tired of writing, or maybe not (I hope not!), or maybe he just really wrote himself into a corner that he’s having a hell of a time getting out of coherently, but I don’t think he’s motivated by money.
people with a lot of money don’t mind getting more. For example I don’t see Zuckerberg retiring any time soon.
Don’t have a problem with the books at all. Tried to read them but 900 pages is just too much for me.
Like someone said he hired a “ghostwriter” to finish the story and that’s HBO.
Some very wealthy people continue to work, either because they enjoy what they are doing, or because their ego demands that they accumulate as much as possible. (I don’t know which category Zuckerberg is in.) But lots of very wealthy people just do whatever pleases them. Bill Gates has been more focused on spending his wealth than making more for years. (Of course, he still makes a lot.) If Martin is tired of writing the series, more money isn’t going to be much of a motivator. I’m sure he’s still getting a ton of income from royalties etc.
why doesn’t he just write more books that are shorter? He could put out 500 page books that are easier/faster to write. There is no reason he has to write these 900 page monsters other than his own preference .
Also what is more fun, hanging out with Hollywood celebs at parties/premieres/etc. or staring at your laptop all day trying to write a book?

he hopes the next book comes out , eventually
In other words , don’t bet on it any time soon.
If he ever finishes it I’ll buy the hardback on release.
I’m not expecting to have to anytime soon.
I’m sure not holding my breath.
