Nice! Very Xena/Hercules.
It’s the last chapter in ASOS. I’m not sure if it’ll be the last episode though. I’m under the impression that Season 4 will include material from AFFC and ADWD which would put that more toward the middle of the season. I can’t really think of anything dramatic from the last two books that they could get to in that short of a time period though.
I’m pretty sure they’re going to remix the timeline a bit, running Dany’s adventures in 4&5 alongside some Westeros stuff from Book 3. No one wants to watch two and a half seasons of her sitting around fretting about ruling people who don’t trust her and how to end slavery. It was dead boring in the books - there’s no way the casual HBO audience will stand for it.
I sure hope so. I recall someone here referring to those book sections as her trying to be “Princess Perfect Justice,” and I thought that was apt.
Nothing says “quasi-medieval epic” like a power ballad!
New teaser. Based on the first shot, there seem to be more than a few dozen Unsullied. A *lot *more.
That flaming sword…
Based on the voice over, it looks like we might get one of my favorite Stannis scenes. Where he curses his rival kings with the leeches full of king’s blood thrown into the fire.
That was just perfect.
Yes, and there will be wholly new characters and scenes. The books are going to be less and less applicable for ‘looking ahead,’ relative to the show. All to the good.
Along those lines, I’m hoping Talisa Maegyr continues to diverge from Jeyne Westerling, and does not just play the role that book readers are expecting in different ‘clothes.’
She’s already played the entire role that Jeyne Westerling played. Unless you subscribe to the theory that Robb knocked her up and the Blackfish smuggled her out of Riverrun.
I’m saying, I like the character of Talisa more than that of Jeyne. Therefore I hope that Talisa’s story is not limited by the role Jeyne played.
Unlike Jeyne, Talisa knows exactly what she’s doing.
I always got the impression Tyrion really is drawn to strong honest women. Sansa would not be the type to take him to bed other than out of duty and that didn’t really appeal to him, but he admired her at least for adapting and surviving the shitstorm of psychodrama hell that is Joff/Cersei and co. and still retaining who she is, to a degree.
you mean shit shot
Yep, I’m much happier now.
New NEW trailer!
Looks like Sansa’s wedding, Brienne v. Jamie, Jamie and Brienne (in a dress) v. Bear, the making of Reek, Beric v. Hound, and a whole lot of awesome.
Questions: is that Melisandre visiting Beric & Co. under the hill? Who’s the chick getting unlaced? Maybe Missandei. Finally, do you think they did tests of Daario all made up in colors and were like, “Uh, no.”
I’m curious to see what they do here, since the vast majority of this happens “off-screen” in the books. I understand why they put it in, since having a sort-of main character be absent for a season or two is pretty unusual.
Edit: Oh, the main reason I came in here. Very brief synopsis of the first few episodes:
