Valentine's recommendation for a fledgling relationship?

I thought I’d look through some cards to see if I could find a good one, and if not I’d make something up as suggested. I hate shopping for cards, because 99% of them are either completely lame or way too sappy, so I always wind up pawing through them for half an hour or more looking for something decent.

Not so this time! As soon as I walked up a card caught my eye. The picture on the front was of a little boy and a little girl, each sitting on a bicycle, leaning over the handlebars kissing. Inside it simply said “So glad we ran into each other. Happy Valentine’s Day.” I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect card, considering our past relationship and then happening to hook back up 20 years later.

Of course, I wrote some stuff of my own. I also bought her a gargantuan single rose. I didn’t embarrass her outside her class, though; she wouldn’t have been happy about that. So I had the stuff waiting in my car. All in all, it was a resounding success.

Yeah, but texting your response from bed, post coitus? Not cool. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yay!

My solution to this is to just get completely inappropriate cards for the occasion and then edit them. For example, I got my dad a Disney Princess birthday card where the lucky girl was supposed to help whichever character it was set up for her party (with stickers), and drew in a hooker and booze.
