Vampire Survivors: Fun indie, rogue-lite game with 72,000 "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, costs $3

Just get the evolution of the clock lancet and the laurel and play normally.

At the point I’m at, with full upgrades, typically I find just the evolved Laurel enough, though you gotta be fast enough to grab the upgrade parts and level them before death arrives. (I always hold off on picking up stuff on the map for accessories) Though one tarot can solve that too.

Yeah, I came back to the game recently after a long break (arcanas were brand new when I last played) and was pleased to discover that arcana plus those new pickups are clearly meant as a “go ahead and kill death without too much stress” method. You can get your achievements and then go about your business.

Is there any way to evolve Clock Lancet or Laurel without having to march all the way across the map one way and then all the way back the other way to the opposite side?

Also, it would seem impossible to get both evolved at the same time.

One of the arcanas sucks all pickups to your location every two minutes - I don’t recall what it’s called. You still need to get the proper items (lancet/laurel) to evolve them.

Best practice for items on the ground is wait until you’ve filled up your initial slots. Even if you’re ‘out of room,’ you can still hold items that you pick up off the ground. Plus, it’s a bit of a hassle to deal with the guardian dudes right out of the gate.

I thought the hoover action didn’t extend to the whole map but only things in the nearby area (which may be off screen but not from the whole map).

This particular arcana (not the little gem vacuum pickup thingy) gathers absolutely everything on the map to your location every two minutes, including things like chests and upgrades.

“Mad Groove” is the name of the arcana.

Even without the Arcana mentioned, it’s still very possible if you have enough speed.

I managed it a couple of times (even without speed upgrades) before figuring out the arcana method. It’s tricky because if you immediately rush to one side of the map you’ll leave lots of gems in your wake, end up underleveled, and won’t be able to efficiently deal with the guardians. If you wait until you’ve powered up a bit before making your move, you risk running out of time to max out the upgrades and evolve them before the 30:00 mark.

Definitely a challenging balancing act, but doable.

Why would that be? I’ve evolved both many times.

Running all the way to the right and all the way back to the left takes an entire game to accomplish and then you’d need to run all the way up and down. I dunno…maybe if you buffed speed on an already speedy character.

I did not know the Arcana trick.

Top, right, bottom, left is less running.

Just did it first try with Pugnala on the Mad Forest w/o taking run speed increase. It was fairly close though, got the laurel upgraded at a little after 29:00. It would be easier in the library and also with Hurry off.

Yeah, Pugnala in the library, completely upgraded by 21:00 w/o speed increase.

It depends on the map, the library only has left and right for both, and I’d guess that the castle only has up/down locations making it less of a run than the maps with the lancet and Laurel parts in each cardinal direction.

I’ve only done the boss rush map once, and with only 1 weapon for the achievement (I used Pugnala so I technically had two), funnily I only died once in the middle before the end. Of course I have gotten 26+ gold eggs on Pugnala, so that probably helped a little too.

How does the Bestiary work?

I have it. I have had it for a while but I only have 13 entries in it and the info is iffy. It says I have killed nearly 67,000 skeletons but still I do not have complete info on them.

So…I am trying to fill out the bibs and bobs I am missing and I have noticed than no matter what I do…take crown for experience or take attractorb or whatever there is little difference. I just finished a run with neither of those and got to level 105. When I use those I get to around level 105.

What am I missing?

I would guess that you are killing fewer enemies when you grab a crown than the attractorb. And also not getting the Pentagram for the evolution while you are more likely to grab Santa Water.

The increased amount of exp needed is also going to make it harder to get many more levels, I don’t think it’s trivial to get past 120 or so.

And having your upgrade for EXP maxed out won’t hurt.

I find Pentagram hurts a lot in the early game.

All too often it wipes out gems and chests.

I know it does loads better when evolved but not sure it really pays off.

I just did 2 runs with the panda in the library. Without the crown and attractorb I was ~100 and with both I was ~130. If I do a run with death or whatever the big blob guy is that starts with the evolved wand I’ll end up around 200.

I never use the pentagram. Usually evolved santa water, wand, and fire wand and then whatever depending on luck.
