Vampire Survivors: Fun indie, rogue-lite game with 72,000 "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, costs $3

While I am not a fan of Pentagram I think it is one of the few things that can kill those lurking reaper things. (like Green Reaper)

so is torrona’s box just a random weapon/buff that shows up during the game or do I have to find it? … and there’s nothing to do with the 2 new people yet?

You get Torron’a Box by having six weapons evolved at the same time during a single run.

It buffs your character’s might, projectile speed, duration and area and curses you at level 9 (100% enemy speed, health, quantity and frequency).

To be clear, that’s how you unlock it. After that it shows up as just another item, although a bit more rare

It’s worth pointing out that items which increase enemy frequency are only a ‘curse’ if you can’t handle them. Otherwise they’re extra experience points and are super helpful for leveling more quickly.

I have but one unlock left, and it is a new one: getting the Scroll of Morbane from the Skull Pile. I’ve given it a couple of good attempts, but not succeeding.

The slowly-sideways-rolling ball of bones appears to the south of you in the Bone Zone map. Killing it yields the treasure.

My problem is that though I have a pretty-darn-effective Knife game (including an arcana that increases its count), and get there pretty early (around level 10-12; the creature increases in difficulty with your level), I can’t seem to kill it. I end up dying to the ever-increasing number and difficulty of the lesser creatures, who in a few levels end up swarming me mercilessly.

My second run I got some laurel and boosted my health regeneration (there are no floor chickens), and lasted longer, but the ball of bones got larger and larger, and there was no indication I was hurting it with my knives, whips, lightning strikes and whatnot (with King Bible and Laurel to provide some level of automated defense). The “chance to freeze” item really didn’t help much at all. I assume the ball is unaffected by the “kill everything on the screen” weapon.

Any tips? To re-emphasize: the Skull Pile doesn’t hurt me; it’s the gathering storm of lesser enemies that end up swarming me, and my constant knife attacks with perks aren’t killing it.

No. I tried it with Red Death, booked it down there immediately, got lucky and picked up knives on the way, and spent 30 minutes following it around the map and focusing on it almost entirely. Never killed it.

i haven’t even tried to find the new stuff yet …

I have not killed the Reaper yet but my understanding is the way to do it is to not level up at all (or very little). Maybe that is what is needed here too.

To be clear, this is a WAG on my part. Just an idea. I could be completely wrong (and I probably am). That said, it may be worth a try if nothing else is working.

I got the scroll after three or four failed runs. My successful run, I picked Zi’Assunta, the character that starts with the Vento Sacro whip. I got the regular whip so I could fully upgrade it, then decided I wasn’t really up for another full run. So, for the hell of it, I filled out the rest of my weapon bar buying stuff from the merchant, and decided to see how long I could last.

I killed the skeleton ball around the fifteen minute mark.

So, my advice?

Huh. I picked the Red Death, headed down there and killed it in <10 minutes. Not sure exactly the time, but I think it was more like 6.

How many weapons did you use? I used 1.

This combined with the arcana that increases your damage with more empty weapon slots. And the character that starts with an Evolved Wand.

My first try went pretty well, that ball of bones can get really, really large

Now onto the new secret stuff for me.

That was a good idea. I took that relic and Red Death, then picked up the daggers as my only other weapon. I killed the thing at 1:44.

Does anyone know of an up-to-date cheat sheet? on where/how to get the new characters and goodies?

Killing the ball of bones gives a list of secrets beyond the achievements/unlocks, but there may be a few things you have to look elsewhere for a list of everything. Some of those are given when you get the secrets item, I think. Even deeper is a list of the way to unlock secrets with a cose (I think the secrets list and the unlock menu is the complete list of everything.)

I did that plus Pugnala (the guns). Once you get it evolved you’re just spinning lasers and you don’t really have to worry about aiming. Just stay close to the ball and they will destroy it.

The wiki has everything you need.

Oh, I’m very familiar with that Wiki. As of yesterday, I saw no tips on how to achieve my goal; only the information on how to get the Scrolls.

That was in response to nightshadea asking where to find general unlock information.

My apologies, @Johnny_Bravo .

But to clarify: I HAVE found useful tips on certain unlocks (like killing the water guy) on the Wiki; but I think this Skull Pile challenge, in its current form, is too new to have much in the way of comments yet.
