That this will happen on DVD seems inevitable, with the enormous success of the Family Guy experiment (anyone know how FG is doing against AD - the animated one, not the cancelled one?). I think it’s possible we could see a an hour-long Futurama special at some point, and maybe a season, maybe.
Billy West has been a little bit vocal in his criticism of the industry, blasting the growing use of non-voice actors for big animated roles. Is there any chance his attitude is hurting Futurama’s long-term chances?
We did have a thread about this a few weeks ago. The show ended on a great note, but I think this would be excellent.
[QUOTE=cthiax] According to SFW, Variety reports that a limited number of new episodes of Futurama will appear in some form somewhere.
He hasn’t criticized Fox as far as I know, just ‘the movie industry’- but all I saw was that one Onion interview. So I don’t see why it would have any affect on the show’s future. He’s just a guy looking out for his line of work, right as he may be.
In celebration, I provide you with this lovely Zapp Brannigan sound board. The two that make me giggle like a 12 year old are:
“Soo beautiful, yet so neutral”
and
“Stop testing our love!”
Yeah, apparantly GotFuturama has one of those direct image link blockers. For good reason, I mean, they gots to pay for their own bandwidth and don’t want others sucking it up.
