VEGAS FEST! Maybe?

Ok kids, I’ve got the code.

Email me if you need it.

OK, especially for those of us travelling a long way, the only way to do Vegas is to do it right. So…

  1. Please add Canby to the “yes” list. We’re currently planning on pulling into town on Thursday and jetting out on Monday.

  2. For planning purposes, do we have an exact location/time for the wedding?

  3. We gotta plan some other stuff. Specifically, I’m wondering who else might be interested in one or more of the following:

a) A golf outing
b) A helicoptor tour of Hoover Dam and/or the Grand Canyon
c) A trip to Olympic Garden (the only fun strip club in the country, IMHO)
d) Checking out the Freemont St. Experience (a pretty cool light show downtown, which is free)
e) Other ideas?

In particular, I’m interested in getting some folks together for a golf outing. Mr. C, are you a golfer? We could do the “last bachelor outing” (coed, for lady doper golfers, of course) thing. If I’m dragging a honest-to-goodness soon-to-be-married guy, I might be able to talk us on to some pretty kick-ass courses.

Vegas is so much more than food and gambling, so it makes some sense to try to get the most out of the weekend as possible. Thoughts?

But speaking of food, I feel duty-bound to throw Delmonico’s into the mix. It’s Emeril’s cajun steak place in the Venetian. Absolutely the best meal I’ve ever had I had there (of course, the fact that it was comped by the casino might have helped my perception, but still…).

There are a number of hotels up there, wouldn’t it be more fun if we stayed in one or two? I’m still thinking of going, but don’t know where.

I also better be good at cookouts this summer, the indoor skydiving max weight is 230.

Hi all. Kore and I are definitely going. We are planning on reserving a room shortly. Does anyone (on or off the ‘roomates needed’ list) want to go ahead and set up to share a room? Just attempting the whole ‘forward planning’ routine. (Perhaps not very well, but I hope the peanut gallery can control itself).

So, if you’re interested, please email me and let me know soonish.

Thanx,

-Stil

Actually, I have a full set of clubs in the storage area collecting dust as you read this. I am an atrocious player, only capable of hitting a good 5 iron (and then, maybe), but one who fully understands the joy of the beer holes. I would be happy to bring them along.

Ok, I’m booked into the MGM. So be warned, any doper attending runs the chance of meeting me.

Ugly

oh…you want to the wedding location…um…working on it.

Okay, I’m definitely coming now, barring any unforseen catastrophes/work. I just made my reservation at New York New York. I’ll see you all there… and remember people, always split aces and eights, okay?

Anamorphic,

Roadtrip?

Pssssssssst.

The wedding chapel is booked  It’s right near the MGM, so there’s no transportation difficulties

Sure! I was planning on driving, anyway. As long as we can stop to eat lunch at Bun Boy and marvel at the wonder that is the world’s largest themometer (sorry, Chique!).

Is it too late to RSVP for the wedding?

Too late? My good man, your attendance is MANDATORY!

Why, thank you! Then consider me RSVPed. (RSVP-ized?)

what are you talking about? You’re IN the wedding!

ok, not really…but I do have a location and time

I usually head to Vegas every year, with or without the 'rents tagging along. Hell, this’ll give me a chance to check out the rooms at the Venetian.

e (in Orlando, which is like a humid Vegas withot gambling or people who hand out prostitution catalogs in front of Casino Royale, which BTW is great for craps and free margaritas)

I’m not in the flirt threads or one of the 5000 club, but can I come along? Huh?

Oh, this is great. I’m pretty thrilled I’ll get to meet all these dopers in one place. Yay!

Okay, peppiness over.

Do you need me to find a good golf course? My mother’s husband is quite the golfer, and I’m sure he could recommend some. Then I can come back with those recommendations.

We might consider some sort of non-golf outdoor activities, like rock climbing or jetskis/swimming at the lake which is still lovely and warm at that time of year.

::walks off grumbling something about the bastards that stole our idea::

Ohhhh yaaaaaa… Count me in. It may have taken me a while to get to this (seeing as I always forget to check this board) but I’ll be there. Woo hoo!

Are you afraid now?

YAY diyeana, you’re here!!! Everyone meet my LJ fellow Utah homegirl! She’s way cool.

So anyway, yeah, Vegas. . .

Vegas stuff, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

I got the contract for the New York, New York in the mail today – YAY! I am getting ready to sign it and send it back.

A couple of things you need to know:

There are two different rooms available to our group at the New York New York (also, don’t forget Miss C’s information regarding the MGM, which is directly across the street from the NY, NY and even connected by a bridge).

Skyline

$135.00 per night double occupancy. There will be a $20 charge, per person, for every third, fourth, and fifth person staying in the room. This fee isn’t charged for the first two people. For instance, a room with 4 people will be $175.00 per night.

This is a small room with two queen sized beds or one king. There is a bath tub/shower combination. It is your basic hotel room without the frills.

Broadway Deluxe

$160.00 per night double occupancy. There will be a $20 charge, per person, for every third, fourth, and fifth person staying in the room. This fee isn’t charged for the first two people. For instance, a room with 4 people will be $200.00 per night.

This room is larger with two queen sized beds or one king. It is a lot fancier (although I can’t vouch for HOW fancy) with marble bathroom, tub and shower, more dresser drawers, etc.

There is a 9% tax on all rooms.

Check-in 3:00 p.m., check-out 11:30 a.m.

THE IMPORTANT PART

The room block MUST be no less that 10 rooms in order to secure this lower rate. If we do not reserve all 10 rooms before September 11, 2002, our reservation will no longer be considered at the group rate. The rooms will then be charged at the going rate at that time which will be more than likely much higher.

The hotel can only guaranty the 10 rooms requested. If we find that we need more, every effort will be made to increase our block of rooms, however, unless this is done early, there is no guaranty.

Reservations MUST be made no later than September 11, 2002 by check or credit card. Group cancellation may be made without penalty up to 30 days before date. Individual cancellations may be made up to 48 hours without penalty.

Full payment is due upon check-in. Express check-in is not available.

Rooms will each be guaranteed with credit card imprint or $100 cash deposit (each day) to establish credit for phone usage, room bar, etc. Any unused portion will be returned at the end of the stay.

Instead of posting the registration account number, e-mail me at BubblesLaRoooo@aol.com. Please don’t use my ButtMail e-mail account in my profile because I am having problems with it and might not get your request.

Again, it is really important that we know how many rooms we will need. I am most concerned that we have enough so someone won’t have to pay a higher rate. Once we get the ball rolling on booking, please let me know so I can monitor whether or not I need to grab a few extra rooms.
