VEGAS FEST! Maybe?

Doper are EXPECTED at the wedding!

Oh no.

I’ve just realized that my 10 year High School Reunion is on October 12th. Crrrrrap.

Well, if it comes down to me not being able to decide, I know Mr. Killdare will take about a half second to choose Las Vegas.

I’m still a maybe. And I can certainly recommend The Luxor, which is attached to Excaliber, which is attached to New York New York, which is attached to the MGM Grand (and The Luxor is right beside Mandalay Bay, so we’d be within hollering distance of Sue Dunhym & her family).

Diane,

I think I said this earlier but I can put up one or two people at my place if they don’t mind cats and sleeping on the floor. Preferablly one. I’m only a couple of blocks from the strip. The only issue I can think of is that I only have one bathroom but I don’t think it would be a big issue.

Since I am now playing the part of a poor college student I can understand that some may want to conserve money.

Slee

OMG! That is TOO cool!

Make sure you call ahead for Elvis, when my hubby and I got married there, we couldn’t get one on such short notice.

Diane,

When the last Dopefest occured there, we realized that taking a cab was cheaper than the bus (when you combined people) than it was to take the shuttle.

The shuttle is great to and from the airport but when galavanting (sp) around the city, a cab is the best bet. Downtown would be a fun place to go gambling for one night too, I wish I had set that up but didn’t.

I still have all my Vegas links on here so if anyone wants me to post them I will.

I sure as hell hope I can go. A 13 hour drive through Colorado and Utah sounds like a nice diversion and fun to stop and take some photos along the way! I’ve been stuck on the Front Range of Colorado for far too long and getting itchy feet.

BTW, the Monte Carlo is a nice place to stay, I just couldn’t afford it when we set up the last one. I recommend it for people looking for a nice place to stay. They also offer some wonderful spa services. I ended up with very painful feet when I went with my father and step-mom in 1998. Dad set up an appointment for a foot massage and oh-my-god, I felt like a queen.

I personally will look to have my own room. I need my downtime as Vegas can overwhelm the senses of your sight, sound and smell. I am still a maybe though and going to see if I can save up some cash.

If Mr. Cynical and MissCreant are getting married there, then I will be there.

I’m currently waiting for a call back from the Imperial Palace for hotel information.

I will also do an updated list this afternoon or in the morning.

That would be awesome if Mr C. and Miss C. had their wedding at the same time!

This is going to rival the 2002 NYC Dopefest. That’s a hell of a list. . .

Just checking regarding rooms.

I have requests for group rate information into a handful of hotels. I will post the info as soon as I hear back from all of them.

just as long as the Elvis impersonator is nearby!

An Elvis impersonator in Vegas?!?!?!? Is there such a thing?

Bumpity-bumpity-bump

Still gathering hotel info. Almost done.

:::Bump:::

Still gathering hotel information - dang, some of these places are slow.

So far it looks like we need to book at least 10 rooms to get group discounts and I haven’t been able to find a suite for the same cost as a double. The Imperial Palace no longer does that. :frowning:

Also, whether or not we can get a good deal on a suite, I would rather have a double and let someone else to the suite thing. I don’t want to kick people out of the room when I am ready for my booze induced beauty rest.]

So far the Imperial Palace is the cheapest and in a good location.

Why do we need a suite?

It may be good to have a suite as a gathering place/party room. from what I hear, it worked out really well at the last VegasFest.

Diane,
Allan said to make sure that if we’re bunking together, we have lots of pillows full of light, fluffy white feathers that will easily fly all over the place while we slow motion fight in our nighties.

Just for your checklist, OK?
