Altho Jackie is, according to the preview for next week, the “most hated girl in school”, it was interesting to see her willing help Wallace out of a jam, even working with Veronica.
This is also the second time a Kareoke singing has caught the eye of some other guy’s girlfriend - are they going somewhere with this?
The mayor’s ditzy daughter may have clued us in on some shady doings between the ex ball player and someone - the Fitzpatricks maybe -
Remember in 2.1 we saw the ball player talking to the mayor, but he looked distressed? He must have carried out the sabotage and told the mayor so that his daughter wouldn’t be on the bus
Solid episode, I thought. Nice to see Wallace’s father, Miss Dumas (though I paused on the photo and couldn’t tell if that was the actual actress), Jackie’s Dad, Jane, Curly Moran, Liam Fiztpatrick, his neice Molly, and Gia again. Definitely a lot of returning characters. And some new info on Felix’s murder and the bus crash, after it having been on the back burner the last couple of episodes.
So, Weevil is in a bad spot and riding the bus now. I wonder how this is going to turn out. And why was he beating up Curly? They hinted there was a connection between the two way back in the beginning of the season, when Lamb found Weevil’s earring outside the biker bar Curly was last seen at. I don’t think Weevil killed Curly because I don’t think he’s quite that bad. Beating someone up and stealing cars is one thing, but murder is something else entirely. But the fact that Weevil assualted Curly the night he died does look pretty bad.
And if Thumper did kill Felix, why did he do it? Did someone in the Fiztpatricks find out about Felix and Molly and order Thumper to take care of it? Somehow the Fitzpatricks seem like the kind of people that do their own dirty work, to me. Or did Felix find out about Thumper’s involvement with the Fiztpatricks’ drugs, and Thumper killed him to keep him silent?
I think this is just a running joke. The other guy in both episodes was the same person, “Lars”. He was also Meg’s co-anchor on the school run tv show last year in the episode Like a Virgin. I think he needs to stop bringing his dates to Java the Hut, at least on kareoke night.
I gotta admit–Weevil’s really grown on me. When he was getting his ass kicked I kept thinking, “My man’s gonna get himself some nice fat revenge down the road. Just you watch.” I’ll enjoy seeing that play out.
Did the ending strike anyone else as being a little to “pat” and easy? Judging by the way Rashard’s uncle carried himself, I had the feeling that just because Wallace’s dad found the hidden witness that doesn’t mean everyone’s out of the woods and justice will be served. Anyone else feel that Wallace might still find his feet in the fire in the future?
Overall, a good ep, better than last week, but still not quite up to previous standards.
I was confused. Rashard ran over the homeless guy in Chicago, so Uncle Bastard paid off the drive-thru guy to disappear so he turned up in Neptune? Or was that someone else in Java the Hut while “Veronica” was being kareoked?
And when did Jackie become everyone’s best friend? Last we saw of her, she was strung out on pills at the Winter Ball or whatever. Does anyone believe that Veronica would trust her as a pivotal part of the plan?
Well, if the Chicago prosecutors wanted to be assholes, they could slap some sort of obstruction of justice charge on him. Not that the charge would fly, but it would still mess Wallace up pretty good.
I realize it sounds bad to say this, but I seriously can’t tell one PCHer from another. So any time one or another of them is talking about whatever I never know if it’s someone we’ve seen before or if it’s some new PCHer who suddenly has a beef with Weevil.
The karaoke guy was a totally different guy who looked a lot like the actor cast as the drive-thru guy. They should probably try to work some visual variety into their casting. The karaoke guy has been on before and is becoming a running gag, so the drive-thru guy should’ve had dark hair and a bigger build or something.
That was Wallace’s father busting in on the drive-thru guy, so that’s how you know he’s in Chicago. But yeah, there’s not a ton of variety in the looks of the actors, particularly in secondary roles. I too have trouble telling the PCHers apart–though it should be noted that I only recently could remember Weevil’s name. Don’t worry, though–I’ve got a feeling at least some of those cats won’t be around much longer, if you know what I mean.
