Veronica Mars renewed! How about your favorite new show?

Word is that UPN has renewed my favorite new show, “Veronica Mars.” Normally, I am a curse unto all new shows, but not this year.

How about your favorites? Renewed? Tenterhooks? Already cast in the trash can of TV history?

Oh thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! I was sure because I loved it, and it was smart, witty, and well-acted it was doomed. Thank you UPN! I love you!!!

Now if I can just get Fox to change its mind about Tru Calling…

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

I was just at a meet and greet of the cast at Cambridgeside Galleria last Friday. So y’all can thank me for its renewal!

Thank you! I’m thanking people randomly and sacrificing many a fatted calf to the TV gods.

The only new shows I like this year are Desperate Housewives and Medical Investigation. I’m pretty sure DH is going to be renewed (season one comes out on DVD on 9/20 ftr) but Medical Investigation is up in the air. They’ve gotta stop murdering Neal McDonough shows in their cribs. ::sigh::

Thanks for the great news about “Veronica Mars”! My husband and I are hooked. Once I mistakenly thought I’d taped over an episode, and the panic and dismay at the prospect of missing one episode would have been comical if it hadn’t been so genuinely alarming. I am about forty years older than the target audience, but good TV shows often span generations.

I am mourning the loss of Showtime’s “Dead Like Me,” which is as dead as its titular heroine. And I am such a total Trekkie that I am going to miss “Enterprise.”

LOST has been found on next year’s line up.

Any news on Numbers ?

This is all I’ve found on “Numb3rs,” from TVTome:

I’m enjoying this show, too. Rob Morrow is almost as lovely to look at as Sayid. Almost.

My husband will be happy to see that “Boston Legal” is being renewed. I gave up on it after a couple of episodes, but he likes it. The other show that he likes but I’ve abandoned is “Jack and Bobby.” I doubt it will be renewed.

My friends and I call Boston Legal SCI-FI LAWYERS!

Since it has Kirk and Odo and that guy from the Stargate movie and some girl who’s on it has sci-fi connections…

We down shots every time Spader does that little lip smack thing.

So, we watch it drunk, mostly.

I was bitterly depressed about that one. I cancelled Showtime the same day I heard they cancelled “Dead Like Me”. In fact, when I told the cable rep why I was dropping Showtime, we had about a ten minute conversation mourning the loss of DLM.

I’ll miss my weekly dose of Mandy. And I have to give up on my dream of his kissing me on my forehead and calling me ‘peanut’. Sigh.

Well, they seem already to have tossed Johnny Zero. Glad to hear the news about Veronica Mars, though.

Either of those would have been good as a single-season, defined-run drama. Too bad that paradigm seems alien to American TV execs.

House appears to be safe, especially with its supercharged American Idol lead-in.

Looks like “Eyes” is toast. They’ve removed it from the May schedule. Bummer.

Yeah, so I heard. I’m bummed about that one too. I hope thay at least burn off the rest of the episodes durring the summer.

I’ve seen a bit of “Veronica Mars” and I liked it. Unfortunately it’s on opposite “House” and “The Amazing Race”. I hear it’s gonna get re-run over the summer, so I’m planning to get hooked then.

Really? Damn. That one was a surprise gem. And I was about to come here to root for its resurrection.

Hmm… Arrested Development is still in limbo, I believe. I think the US Office has been closed, which is also a shame.

I also miss Dead Like Me. It’s cancellation prompted me to severely cut back my cable, which saves me $40 a month. Also, season two wasn’t nearly as good as season one.

I’ve got my fingers crossed for Arrested Development and EYES. Right now the tea leaves point to AD getting renewed and EYES getting the axe. I can live with that, but I do hope I get an opportunity to see the rest of the episodes of EYES.

I’m planning to watch the VM reruns this summer. I just had TOO MUCH TV this season.
