Very Superstitious-A Hockey Mojo MMP

Hi.

My mind seems to have needed a break from Teh Intrawebz… so I haven’t seen the MMP (or anything else on the 'Dope, for that matter) since Thursday. I didn’t even read e-mail until this morning…!

Anyway, long way of saying I haven’t read anything lately… last I remember, we were all looking for Ivory’s kitteh… Did she come home?

Otherwise, I got nuttin’

Well, except for this hilarious Facebook Haggadah (**Rosie **has probably seen it already :)) – this year, with New and Improved(?) Flaming Chariots!!!

Up, caffeinated, off to work.

Stronger Marmite? Band Name!

: waves at lunch :

Hi Lunch.

No kitty, yet.

Apparently my choice of movie last night was appropriate!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! I feel surprisingly well. Matter of fact I’m all purtified to go get deheathenated which I shall do by myself cause OYKW decided he needed to sleep more. That’s ok cause he also has his list of stuff to do while I’m at church to get prepared for lunch.

Ok, need to get outta here. I’s hongry so gonna go get me a bizkit from MickeyD’s.

Echod - I hadn’t seen this year’s version yet. I LOVE it.

Swampyfied at St. Bluegill’s this morning. I was roundly mocked; the fish were jumping but not biting. Grrrr.

At least I was out of the house and away from VWife’s [del]whipcracking[/del]honeydo list for 2 wonderful hours.

I took a nap and now I’m awake with a headache. I hope TVMan wakes up fairly soon so I can make breakfast. I think some food might help.

I just uploaded the pictures from yesterday to facebook. For some reason only about 3 of 20 or so actually uploaded directly from my phone. It’s weird which ones decide to go through and which don’t.

I guess I killed the MMP.

My day has just taken a very surprising turn. Thank God for TVMan and his ability to make me laugh.

I’ve finished the “practical” part of the subtitling stuff and it wasn’t as bad as I’d feared. Got a couple guys from the Gaming Club to check it out for QC purposes and it passed; all I’d asked them to do was “say if anything looks strange or goes too fast to read” - I’m a speed reader, so I can’t trust myself about reading speeds; it even got a few laughs, so it’s fine.

Now I have to decide whether I’m going to do The Other Fragment (much more interesting technically, but on the short side, so the TA said if I did it I had to “fill in” the rest with a fragment from whatever else) and chop up part of this one as the “whatever else”. Or just hand in both :stuck_out_tongue: “here, this one for quality and this one for quantity”.

We also have to hand in a “report” which is supposed to be a “theory review”, but here I can go MWAHAHAHA: I have the One and Only official standard there is (Spain was, and still is, the first country to have one), so that’s what I applied, and just going over that is enough to fill the report :stuck_out_tongue:

I think this post needs some licking… :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Every time I see a post by LiLi I think “no TNC2.0 yet! pout”… and I’m not even a relative!

Good morning everyone!

We had a great time with our friends last night. We all met at our place, had a nice shot of Amarula, then headed off to dinner at an Eye-talian restaurant. We pretty enjoyed our meals, except I was a good girl and ordered salad. What I really wanted was some gnocchi with alfredo sauce. I resisted it’s siren call, but it was hard.

At any rate, our original plans called for us to go to see Shutter Island after dinner. We bagged that, however, and decided to head to the home of one of our friends. While there, we enjoyed chocolate vodka and pomegranite martinis and conversation. We also watched Dexter until the wee hours of the morning. I had quit drinking several hours before the show ended, but both hubby and I attemped to sleep on the loveseat at our friend’s house.

Neither of us got much rest, but at 6:30 we were up and headed back home. Now, normally I would have brewed some coffee and just stayed up. Hubby decided he was still tired and headed up to bed. I was a little tired too, so I headed upstairs to nap.

I woke up at 10:50 this morning.:o:smack::frowning: I feel like I’ve lost half the day now.

At any rate, I don’t have much energy. My big plan was to start with the Wii workouts again, but now I can’t. Not due to lack of energy, but due to the fact the lamp burned out on my television.

Stupid TV is only six years old. It’s a Sony Wega. Through some research yesterday, I discovered that there have been numerous complaints about this TV. I also discovered a recall had been issued because of some of the issues my TV had. Unfornately, we never received the notice, and apparently, it was the same with many, many, many, many other consumers.

Depending on the exact model number I have, the lamp is going to run me anywhere from two hundred to three hundred dollars. It appears we can replace it ourselves, but dammit, I shouldn’t have to even worry about this. Sigh, they just don’t build things to last anymore. We paid a tidy sum for this TV. They’re cheaper now, of course, but all the same, it still pisses me off.

Oooh! I just found out my next-door neighbor is moving out at the end of the month. She has the biggest cabin on the row, with a separate bedroom and a fireplace! Tomorrow morning I’m going to go beg our property manager to let me move over there. The actual move would only be a moderate PITA because all I need is enough people to carry stuff over from here.

Excellent present, universe. Excellent.

Howdy Y’all! Deheathenated, lunched, and napped. That’s been my day. I must face the Herculean task of emptyin’ the dishwasher at some point, I suppose.

The fb Haggadah is a hoot! Everybody needs to read it.

No baby yet.

Huh. Nat heard the word ‘stupid’ for the first time (I think) today. And just started dancing around saying, “I’m stupid! I’m stupid!”. Huh. We’re discouraging it mildly, although it’s pretty funny.

Anyone know a good, easy, dal makhani recipe?

I don’t even know what dal makhani is.

Forgot to mention, I am thinking, “Get out here NOW, kid!” thoughts on Lissla’s behalf. I have a coworker who is due May 4 with her second. Kid #1 is going to be a month shy of two when that happens. It’s a good thing she has more energy than I have…kid 1 is a cutie but a handful, and adding what we hope will be a little sister to the mix should be interesting.

Dal makhani is essentially a lentil curry-ish thing of some kind. droooooool

So I’m 34. Weird. Where the heck did the years between about 25 and now go, anyway?

Eek! We’re almost late for a very important date! Happy Birthday, snowbunny!!!
Ok, I’ve put my family drama into perspective. There’s only so much that I can do.
Now I’m working on some eBay listings that I’ve been putting off for a great while. Hopefully the rest of my evening will be productive, too.

Hi, I’m home posting on FCD’s laptop. My display is dead, or my vid card is dead - one or the other. I’ll figger it out tomorrow. meanwhile, it’s time for supper.
Happy snowbunny Day!!!

And on that note, I’m outta here. See ya tomorrow…

Yay for possible moving, snowbunny!

I loved the fb Haggadah! It’s even more surreal when you read it while on facebook, I think.

Any chance they’ll replace the lamp if you complain to Sony, Taters? Six years does sound like an awfully short life for a TV; although I expect that the current generation of TVs will have a shorter lifespan that older models (see TVMan’s hobby).

I was going to do some more work in the garden, but took a nap instead.

Should do laundry or something, but have decided that vegging might be in order.

Back later…

ETA: Happy Birthday, snowbunny!!!

GT

I thought it sounded like a swear word or an obscure sex ritual. Shows what I know…
We had pork chops and sweet potato biscuits for dinner. I still have not made brownies for my neighbor whose husband died on Friday. I’m a bad person. We also have nothing with which to make brownies. The funeral is Tuesday, so I can make them tomorrow night. We aren’t (and weren’t) particularly friendly. He was… special in his own way. Still, I don’t want to be un-neighborly. Now, if my OTHER neighbor on the other side ever dies, I will be grief-stricken in the worst way. Harold’s wonderful, even though we disagree on every topic under the sun, from affirmative action to health care to gun control. He’s a died in the wool conservative, and a wonderful, wonderful person.

Happy birthday, snowbunny!

Dal makhani is the delicious lentil thing that they serve at most of my favourite Indian buffets. It’s lentils in the creamy red gravy, sort of similar to butter chicken sauce. Indian food intimidates me- I love to eat it, but I don’t have any kind of feel for how the sauce/spice components work.

Mr. Lissar and Gnat are out in the garden. I can hear my kid. Are girls any quieter, when they’re toddlers? Or do they all shout constantly?
