Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
It’s 10:00a.m., and I’m still sober. I will not be tonight.
rigs, I am in favor of you sharing your orange undies.

Today I look like Cassie the Nauseous Ghost. The only green shirt that I have is a faded tie-dye that is 2 1/2 sizes too big. I tried to tie it in some sort of clever knot but that just didn’t really work at all.(Maybe only people with small hips can get away with that?)
Oh well, at least I am wearing a lovely fork necklace.
I love that video. It’s really funny.
Blanked on St. Pattys thing. Will run by the market and pick up a corned beef, cabbage etc.
Happy St. Pat’s! Not sure if Mr. Lissar will insist on green beer. I think we’re having something with pork tenderloin for dinner, because that’s what’s in the fridge.
I’m wearing purple and black. Both my pairs of maternity pants are black, and I don’t have any green maternity shirts. There’s always next year, ad Muppet says.
Attacks Husband is doing some baking, Nat’s at Grandma’s, and I’m going back to the couch and fretting because I’m having an Attacks of Spring Sewing and can’t.
Anyone want to buy me this and this and maybe this? I can’t afford them. I should never look at Anthropologie.
I tried. Honest. Just not my kind of thing, I guess.
But I do love your St. Patrick’s Day outfit!
I forgot about St. Patrick’s Day, but I don’t have any kelly green anyway. I’m one little tiny bit Irish, but not enough to worry about celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
I decided to play hooky this afternoon. I need a mental-health half day, and today’s 60 and sunny and wonderful where Friday’s going to be maybe 40 and possibly snowy. So the choice seemed obvious. If nothing else, I’m going to sit on the patio in the sunshine.
I love drawing and painting beautiful dark-skinned women. I did one for my Christmas cards (an astronaut) and I’m doing one for these story spark cards (an Gaia-like figure). Really, I think the darker skin tones are so much more attractive than Caucasian ones.
I suppose some people might accuse me of exoticism, but it’s just that it’s they have such richer colors!
I have new windows! Well, most of them, anyway. And a new sliding door in the dining room - minus the handles, since they brought 2 inside halves and no outside halves… but they’ve got to come back tomorrow to install the bow window and the new window in the stairwell, so no big. The windows are great - triple paned, all vinyl, tilt in to clean, double hung. Definitely nice.
I did notice as I was wiping down the frames to rehang the curtains that I need to paint a little. I’ll give the caulk another day to cure, then on Friday, I’ll get a little container and do touch-up on all of the frames. They I can hang the blinds and it’ll be all done. Yay!
Next comes the siding. I’m guessing next week. I don’t need to take off for that, damn the luck. I mean - goody! I don’t need to miss any more work!! And it’ll all wrap up with new fascia, soffit, gutters, and gutter inserts to keep the leaves out. YAY!
We’ve got “shutters” out front - old nasty wooden ones that we’ll replace with vinyl ourselves. After everything else is done. Our house is going to look good!
The furnace guy came, too. The circulate mode of our air handler wasn’t working. It turned out to be a loose wire, which is what I suspected. I think when they installed the flue blower, they knocked it loose or unscrewed it and didn’t resecure it or something.
Break over. Gotta get back to ironing. I’ve got the curtains back up in the master suite and the junk room. The family room drapes are waiting some de-wrinkling, and the guest bedroom drapes are still in the dryer. Supper is in the crock pot. All my new windows are open because it’s gorgeous out. Life is good!
Yay for new windows, Mom! I love ours. They actually go up and down, and have screens and everything!
**Rebo **- yeah, the whole up and down thing is great! Our old ones were the 1975 originals, and the three big ones out front (6’ tall) did NOT like to move. The new ones are heavier, but they slide much more easily. I am very pleased.
Family room curtains are hung, guest room curtains are begun. I hate ironing. But it’s great having clean window coverings! And after I do the touch-up paint, I’ll wash my new windows. Wonder how long before dog nose prints will take over again??
Back to the ironing board…
I’m going nuts and it’s not homework related this time. Three or four days ago I bit the side of my mouth HARD. It hasn’t healed yet and it’s quite sore. And of course I keep trying to bite it again. I also apparently bit my tongue in the night, because I have a sore there too. It hurts and it’s annoying.
I’m also apparently rambley right now, because I talking in all sorts of threads.
Howdy Y’all! One more day of irk for me! YAAAAAAY!!!
Other than that I got nuttin’ cause I’m grumpy right now. It’s rainy, dreary, cool and blah out plus the power just had to flicker long enough to make me have to reset clocks all over da cave.
So, Ima go be a grump for about an hour then go to church where I’ll either be over the grumps or exorcised. We shall see.
9.30PM here and I am going to bed. Long day. Tired. Zzzzzzzzzzz…
TvMan and I are going out tonight since the band that we usually follow, The Huckin Fillbillys, is playing at a local bar. It’s normally crazy on a regular day, but on a drunken holiday, it should be interesting. And since we’re both old and decrepit :p, we needed a nap before going. I woke up a little bit ago and I’m supposed to wake him in a little bit.
We can’t actually stay too late, though, because I have several lunches in the morning and need to stop at the store on my way back home. But wish us luck anyways so that our car won’t attract any drunk drivers.
anyrose–I loved it so much, I posted it on my FB last week. I could watch it several time in a row. It still makes me smile.
worked in a Catholic environment in CHICAGO all day and only saw 3 people with green on. Surely this signals the End of Days.
Hafta go to sucky job tomorrow, but at least I don’t hafta be there until 0900. Will work late in lib on Friday–I’m going to have an Open House in April. Yay!
Ok, the grump is still here. Well, I got over the earlier one but acquired a new one in church. It’s more than a grump actually, it’s a pissed off grump.
I agreed to be a Lector tonight. Matter of fact if it hadn’t been for that I might not have even gone due to said earlier grump. So, I have first Lesson. It’s sitting there on the Lectern. I look at it before the service as I am wont to do and I thought to myself, what a strange reading from Isaiah for tonight but hey, if it’s what the Lectionary says is to be, well read it I shall. It and the New Testament reading, btw are the only readings at all on the Lectern. We were not using the Lectionary per se, as the lessons were printed off.
That’s the set up.
I read the Lesson like I was supposed to. Then, young Priest (the object of my poed ire at the moment) gets up to do his sermon. Three, count 'em three times during the sermon he points out that I (yes, called me by name) read the wrong lesson.:mad::mad: I read what the hell was up there for me to read.
I thought I could get through the service but I couldn’t. I left. No way could I take Communion from him. Part of the whole service is the prayer of Confession followed by Absolution from the Priest. No way could that happen with me either.
Will I get over this? Yeah, I will. When? Might take a day or two. Or longer. Tomorrow I may say screw Saturday and me bein’ there for the churchwide St. Patrick’s celebration especially all the preparations thereof. Or I may be fine. Right now it’s all grrrrrrrrrrrr.
Y’all get to see all this because I figure it’s best I say it all somewhere and here I can just write it all out.
Now I’m goin’ beddy bye.
I promise to not grump in the MMP anymore. Well, at least for the rest of this week.
Nite Y’all!
No one makes Swampy feel bad and gets away with it. Not even a young Priest.
We roll at dawn.
I’ll start setting up everyone’s alibis
**swampy **- that’s cheezy to the tenth power! We love you, no matter what you read! Well, unless you read something like “Everybody Poops” with wacky voices - that would just be weird.
It’s late. I need my beauty sleep. But I’ll return tomorrow.
Kisses!!
I’m ready to roll with my clue-by-four and a large wet trout, Swampy.
Survived another day of “irk” as our Swampy is wont to call it. I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and picked up a few things and soon I shall commence with cooking dinner.
There isn’t anything too exciting going on here. The sun is out, though, and that’s always a good thing.
