Very weird Fraiser coincidence

NYC’s Channel 11 shows Fraiser at 7:30 p.m. Monday night I was watching the telecast of Broadway on Broadway, and changed the channel to see which Fraiser they were showing. It was the FIRST episode, which I have never seen, so I ended up flicking back and forth between events. Bebe Neuwrith, who plays Frasier’s ex-Lillith, was also in BonB singing All That Jazz.

There was a thunderstorm in New Jersey at the time, but under the dark clouds was a line of red sunset sky. I looked at it and thought “That looks just like a smoky fire.”

Somehow, all these ideas are tangled in my brain with the thought that Frasier’s creator, David Angell, was in one of the WTC planes.

I read that Frasier, Seinfelt, Friends and other New York-based TV series had been cancelled from one Swedish television channel, because of the terrorist deeds.

From MSNBC.com’s victims list:

He was onboard American Airlines flight 11.

Frasier is based in Seattle, Washington. My hometown.

What I have been able to find is this:

It’s not really New York based programs that have been cancelled. It’s all sorts of light entertainment, preferably set in the US.

One public service channel has lifted out “West Wing”, but will show it again next week

The other public service channel has done the same with “Ally McBeal”

One commercial channel has cancelled “Seinfeld”, “Sex and the city” och “Married with children”

Another commercial channel has cancelled “Jay Leno”, “Spin City” and “Friends”.

I seems that both will start airing them again next week.

I can imagine that some of the NY based shows still in production will air a special episode that covers these events. They can’t really not do so, in my mind, if NY is a central character of the show.

I don’t know if West Wing would have to, being a fictional alternative America.

I bet they change the opening credits of NYPD Blue, which prominently featured the WTC towers.
