I’m at an impasse. These are the only two actual missions open to me. I just did the assassination mission “Autocide.” I’m done Avery’s missions, I don’t have a Diaz or Cortez mission to do right now, and I can’t do the next Cuban mission until I do Dirty Lickins.
Is there a way to open up other mission strands, such as Love Fist or the Porn King, or do I have to do these missions first?
HELP me beat Dirty Lickins! I’ve tried with every weapon, and I just have major trouble with targeting the Cubans from the rooftop - sometimes the weapon auto-locks, sometimes not, for seemingly no reason. Any tips? or just trial and error?
Actually, it’d help most if you said what missions these were. I’m guessing by the rooftop remark that Dirty Lickins is the one the voodoo lady gives you, where you have to shoot Cuban gang members (as they fight the Haitians) from the rooftop of a nearby building.
If that’s it, then it might help you to 1) use your sniper rifle, and 2) take the adrenaline pill near the base of the stairs. This slows down time for you, making it easier for you to aim. True, it also slows down your shooting and reloading, but it does help.
Whatever you do, don’t use a rocket launcher or grenade. IIRC you have to keep the Haitians alive. Also, rushing down there guns-a-blazin’ will get you killed or arrested.
Yes, Dirty Lickins is the Haitian one to which you refer. I’ve had trouble with a handgun, a machine gun, and a sniper rifle. I’ll keep trying…
Death Row is the one in which you have to rescue Lance from the junkyard. I think I can finagle a completion out of that with trial and error and some luck, but Dirty Lickins is busting my ass…

Death Row is tricky. My roommate did it mostly with the sniper rifle, taking goons out at a distance. The downside to this plan is that it takes a while to get into a good sniping location and to get a shot out, and time isn’t something you have a lot of in this mission.
I think once he tried driving an about-to-explode car in there and jumped out before it exploded. Took out a couple goons in the process. He also shot up the cars that blocked the junkyard entryway so that the explosions would kill anyone nearby.
Or you can just steal the attack helicopter or tank and be done in five seconds.
Just had an in-the-zone night. Still haven’t beaten Dirty Lickins, but EASILY beat Death Row, after having failed miserably a dozen times. Also seized Diaz’s mansion on the first try, opening up the Love Fist Missions and Vercetti Empire Missions. I’ll keep trying to do Lickins, tho…
Incidentally, all I used to beat Death Row was the Mac-10 Machine gun, blowing everyone away, then using the Sentinel outside of the torture shack to take Lance to the hospital - not one of Diaz’s goons hit my car on the way to the hospital…
In Death Row, there are lots of good places to take cover. Use an Uzi or Mac-10 or an M-16 if you have one. Just take it one-by-one, taking cover and identifying the sources of fire before you make a mad rush to the next cover. Don’t take too long or Lance gets killed. The big trick is that after you get to Lance, do not take any car except the big ass Trashmaster garbage truck. A bunch of respawning Comets (Porsches) will ram you and it is very tricky to get to the hospital through them unless you are in a Trashmaster (which they bounce right off of).
I got it the first time with the Trashmaster, but when I redid it for fun in a Sentinel (the BMW-like car that is sitting at the entrance), I got pummeled. I have made it once, though.
I passed Death Row by taking the pill, running up the stairs, and going to edge of the building. Crouch to improve accuracy and just start shooting away. Be sure to zoom back if you are using the sniper rifles to take out the incoming waves of Cubans coming in before they have a chance to kill all of the Haitians. Don’t waste your time on rapidly moving targets, go for the stationary easy kills first. You don’t have to kill all of them – the Haitians do kill a few, so you don’t need to be 100% accurate. The more you get, the better your chances (obviously).
Use the sniper rifle at first, then when more Cubans arrive at the scene shoot them one by one with a Uzi 9mm or the Mac 10. You’ll have to keep aiming after you shoot. But the main thing to make sure your aim is on a Cuban.
If there are any more Cubans left, either snipe them or keep the Uzi handy.
