This gives me an idea: a game set in the Men in Black universe and the default player character is Jeebs.
I could have saved a lot of words by just saying ‘MIB game, please!’, thinking about it…
A game like Pokken Tournament with more of a plot. Basically like Final Fantasy 13 with a fighting game mechanic added.
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again : they’ve made a video game version of Blood Bowl. They’ve made a video game version of Space Hulk. They’ve made a decent conversion of Mordheim. They need to make a video game version of Necromunda. Like, now.
ETA : another neat one would be either a remake of the old Interstate 76, or some sort of similar Car Wars kind of game, heavier on the simulation than the arcade.
These people have been working on one but apparently it entered development hell 2½ years ago.
I am really, really surprised this hasn’t already happened, to be honest. And I’m not just saying that because Interstate 76 got me interested in funk music.
Rockstar took a story that would be at home in the GTA universe, set it in the Old West, and gave us Red Dead Redemption.
2K should give us an Old West version of Mafia.
An NBA game that also features the WNBA, and has Pacers classic teams dammit. I want my Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Mark Jackson, Dale Davis, Antonio Davis, Derrick McKey, Jalen Rose fix.
That would be excellent; I agree.
I was watching someone play Quantum Break the other day, and it occurred to me that I’d like to see a game based on Kat Richardson’s Greywalker novels. (WARNING: Potential spoilers ahead.) Not necessarily the specific stories–though some might translate well enough–so much as some of the protagonist’s abilities. She’s a PI who develops the ability to enter a sort of half-world called the “Grey”, a domain of ghosts, monsters, and memories. It gives her some magical clout, but not in the form of spells. She can talk to ghosts (not as useful as it sounds), shield herself against supernatural things, dodge into the Grey to avoid attacks, and a few other tricks.
The most interesting thing she does in terms of potential game mechanics, though, is access “slices” of time. At its most basic, she can see pieces of the history of a place. If she shifts all the way into the Grey, however, she can actually choose a fragment of history and step into it. It opens up some interesting possibilities–she can question people who have been dead for years, she can walk through a closed door (or collapsed tunnel) if it was open in the slice of time she visits, things like that. On the flipside, while she can’t change the past, it can definitely affect her, and the most persistent slices of time are usually periods when bad things were happening.
I think you could build some very interesting gameplay around that. Life Is Strange has a similar mechanic, but it was more limited in scope than what I’m picturing. Also, I’d like to see it in a) an action game and b) a game with an actual “win” outcome.

Riding a bee:
Or instead of being a human you could be a flea that can jump really high and get rides on dogs or humans.
I second these nominations. I love the process of building cars and mechs and taking them into a storymode or pvp. If they had an app, I would buy it if it got decent reviews.
There are already many Warhammer 40K games, but I would love to see a GTA style open world game in the universe. Set it on Cadia, with three playable characters you switch between GTA V style. A Young Cadet Imperial Guardsman (or woman), an Inquisitor, and a Space Marine. Start with a bunch of training missions as the cadet, gradually open up the world. Lots of fun could be with with plot lines to uncover chaos cultists on Cadia, fighting off incursions from the warp, uncovering corruption leading to a high ranking guardsman being a secret cultist, and forays into the warp to fight major battles against chaos demons. Keep it all ridiculously grimdark and over the top, make sure no one takes it too seriously, throw in a sprinkling of Orks for extra WAAAGGGHH!
And no don’t make it an MMO, I want a single player story driven experience, not a grindfest in which I need to play 20+ hours a week to see the best content.
And all done procedurally but in a persistent way so that the universe is the same for all players but the devs don’t have to hand design everything.
Apparently the basic seed for the universe creation is one of the developer’s phone number. (Maybe some clues there as to how our universe began!)
Out next month and I’m really looking forward to it.
I’d like a Witcher III-style open-world story-driven RPG based on Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files books.
Oh god yes! This so much. I didn’t know I needed this until I read this.
they need to make a mmo wc: privateer type of game … and 2k needs to tell sid to update his pirates! series for multiplayer too
And I wish someone would bring back sw galaxies before sony messed it up…
and would it be hard to make a boxing/wrestling/mma rpg ?
•Victoria: Total War. “Usuthu!”
-Also along those lines: More Myth.
•Call of Duty: Marvel Warfare.
•Assassin’s Creed Tianxia.
•A cross between “Surgeon Simulator” and one of those actual “surgery simulators.” Y’know, so enhanced realism, but also effectively a generous “sandbox” mode. Heterotopic Heart time!
Right now that’s probably number one on my list of “Shut up and take my money!” games wishes, now that Battlefield 1 has been announced. ![]()
