VisionQuest (the latest MCU miniseries). Spoilers as it airs

First two episodes are available.

It is about White Vision doing a Herman’s Head while doing stuff along with Wanda’s other son. Robot California is in it. Not especially interesting so far, but not bad enough to give up on either.

I enjoyed the first two episodes quite a bit, probably gonna be a slow burn like WandaVision.

I really enjoyed the episodes so far. I also loved that we get Diane Morgan cameo. I hope they let her humorous side show.

I don’t think that’s a cameo, she’s part of the cast.

I liked seeing Emily Hampshire and Todd Stashwick in it. I like those actors.

The first two episodes were enjoyable, if a little bit silly with the “throw cannon fodder at the indestructible robot” approach our bad guy seems to like. I really liked WandaVision and Agatha so I have high hopes for this show. If nothing else, we should get some good Spader stuff, which is always fun.

Big fan of 12 Monkeys? loved that show.

Another two eps in -

Not the best Marvel show ever but I’ll keep watching. It is trying hard to be goofy fun.

Fun fact: the actors playing DUM-E and U (Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer) are co-founders of the Mischief Theatre Company, who do “The Play That Goes Wrong” and similar farces. We saw Lewis in one of their shows (“The Comedy About Spies”) and he was uproariously funny.

Since we’re talking about actors: the only “Butcherbird” murder we’ve been shown was Simon Moorhead at the start of episode three. I’m certain this character will be important in later episodes. Why? Because nobody is going to cast Art Malik in a 30-second cameo as “murder victim no. 3”. With no dialogue. In the dark. And then deliberately obscure his face in the only photo we see of him.

Not without reason.

The talent in the cast of this show is impressive. Some of the comic bits fairly good. As a whole though not yet hitting whatever mark they are aiming at?

I’m glad they paid homage to the original human torch. I really like that.

I like it, but told a friend “If you watched all the Avengers films but kept muttering ‘Can’t you heroes just sit down and discuss philosophy for half an hour?’, then this is the series for you.”

I should have said “If your favorite part of the MCU was the shawarma scene…”

At this point I have zero clue who the “client” might be. Best guess? the other brother. I don’t remember EDITH being so… quirky before, but I guess she wasn’t voiced by Emily Hampshire at that point either.

Still lots of interesting ideas and fun scenes, so I’m enjoying it, but I’m not sure it really hangs together overall.

I don’t have a great guess for who the client is either. A few things make it seem like it could be Sharon Carter, but that doesn’t make a ton of sense as a tie-in to Wanda and Vision’s story. I’ve been expecting to see some kind of conclusion involving Billy or Wanda, but that doesn’t seem to be where this is going.

They do keep showing Tommy having flashbacks of Billy, and it is hard to not think that’s foreshadowing? But Billy’s power is magic (Wiccan) and not really fitting The Client’s set-up.

Did enjoy the fun introduction of Tommy’s comic book name (Speed) with the movies bit!

Overall, my take is it was a somewhat shaky start but it has really found its footing and am really enjoying it!

I also wonder if the Client’s identity, how Jocasta’s partial consciousness got into the synthezoid body, and the inexplicably brief appearance of Simon Morehead, will be connected somehow. At least two of the three?

And fairly confident that Ultron is on a redemption arc becoming more of a real boy connected to his family such as it is. A noble self sacrifice may be in his future! Maybe locking himself and Jocasta in some safe place, stopping humanity being the puppets on the strings - if for no stated other reason because that would eliminate the aspects of humanity that entertain him! (Not admitting he cares.)

Huge props if it is Agatha all along.

I’m now convinced of this. I simply can’t believe any production would – or could – cast Art Malik in a bit part with, so far, zero lines.

I did think that perhaps he would turn out to be a major part of Jocasta’s origin-story flashbacks, but no. He was there, but entirely peripheral.

I still have no real idea of what any of this is about, or where it’s going, but I’m genuinely enjoying the journey.

I’m enjoying the show so far.

Kind of disappointed Kerry Condon didn’t return to play the avatar version if FRIDAY but apparently she was unavailable.

I suppose it should have been obvious, but I thought it was a funny twist that Paladin’s assistant was an AI who hated her job.

Can’t figure out who the Client / final boss might be. Besides Paladin (who’s just a hired mercenary anyway), Ultron, and Lady Ultron, I honestly can’t think of anyone in the MCU who would have such a hard-on AND the resources to try and take out Vision.
