Visit the SDMB Zoo! (animals wanted)

ears perk up Ssssushi? Rrrwoooolll!

I’m a dog person and the last cat who tried to help herself to my sushi, * became * sushi.

'sokay that happens. But don’t make the mistake again or else blows a bit of flame out Hmm but to the flowers I feel something more substantial is in order… how about sweet and sour pork and spring rolls with lots of sauce

Hey, now, lets not go overboard on the Mnementh-bashing… I may not be one of the loop, but I’m a perfectly nice Dragon…

Hey, nice zoo you got here.

I love zoos! Did an internship at the one in Washington DC and worked at the bird house…it was /such/ a wonderful experience.
I got to raise all the baby ducklings who were hatching in the spring, they were so cute…followed me everywhere I went. I helped take care of the wetlands birds, eagle, condor, owl, macaws, pelicans, cranes, storks, and ibises. It’s a bit more dangerous then it sounds…the Bald Eagle attacked me once, the Owl vied to claw out my eyes, and the wattle cranes went ballistic on whoever entered their enclosure. Then the goddamn magpie geese and black-necked swans were always giving me these subtle yet painful pecks as I went about my business in the wetlands enclosures.
It was fun though, I could totaly spend the rest of my life working as a lowly zookeeper. ;>
Anyway, I’m hoping to get a job at the Roger Williams Park zoo in RI for the summer…wish me luck!

Mermaid, that is not my work. That is the work of a perfectly wonderful young lady named Stephanie Pai Mun-Law. The Narile picture is one of two pictures by her that I commisioned at various Bay Area SF conventions.

I have commisioned art from her, Susan Van Camp, Heather Bruton, Kim Arndt, and various others, though currently only Stephanie has any of the images done for me up.

Me, I have the artistic talent of a dead rhino.

BAD wolfie! My goddess, I saw her first!

Oh look! It’s that darn cat again! Hey kitty, do you want some ice cream? No, wait, whipped cream is probably better for your little tummy. Here you go, little guy.

Ah, excellent. Cousin Norton did receive my missive. We owls must stay unified for the good of the revolution.

He did had second billing in the capitalistic Hitchcock film, but all his scenes ended up on the cutting room floor. Prejudice, I tell you! Prejudice by the bougoiseis against the humble proletariat! And a conspiracy by those $@*^&#ed seagulls!

::hork::

Hello there, miss Ranger.

Any room for a giant imaginary hedgehog ?

We seem to be outgrowing our accomodations here. Time to expand the facilities. There’s about 100 acres immediately adjacent to the park, but its not currently zoned for a zoo. Looks like we’re going to have to get the property rezoned, which could take a while. In the meantime I’ll contact the folks up at the National Zoo and get the name of some good design teams. We don’t want this expansion thrown together like the original construction. Who layed this place out, anyway? Hell, the parking lot is way down the hill from the attractions so you’re exhausted before you ever get to the animals. And don’t get me started about the signage - no wonder we end up with a bunch of lost children every weekend.

Oh, and by the way, did I mention my hourly rate? Then there’s the travel, and graphics costs, and printing, and bribes for the Board of Supervisors, and entertaining expenses, and it looks like we may have to buy a few houses and kick some old ladies out into the streets if we’re going to put in the new panda exhibit.

How 'bout a monorail? I have a friend in the monorail business and he can probably work up some sketches for us, give us a proposal (memo to self: remember to recalculate kickback rate for monorail system. Additionally, book flight to Tahiti).

We always have room for a cute little hedgehog!

No monorail. It upsets the cats and the dragons might mistake it for a flying appetizer.

Prrrrp? Is there room for a werecat? I dont bite or have fleas ;).

in ovesugared ectasy from Soda’s generous gift of whipped cream meoow!

truns back on The Mermaid Didn’t want fish anyway, was probably sour, sniff

goes back to nice, warm dragon pen, greeting Catmarie on the way rrrowl?

Alright, I’m in desperate need of soda and sushi. I hear that these things can be provided… for a modest sum…

A tiny adorably cute little flea hops over. Since she doesn’t want to be a bother, she hops right into a little glass tank next to Spider Woman’s abode. After bouncing all over the place for a few seconds, she decides to take a sun bath on a leafy bed.

Tiburon the shark checking in. (Tiburon means Shark in Spanish.)

Sharks are pretty hungry things. Anyone want to volunteer themselves for my dinner?

Tibs

Now I’d say * that * was a catty remark.

Hey my under the sea companion. How ya doin? How’s your mother I hope all are well. I thought I saw you at the last “Shipwreck Ball”–were you there? Man I had a hell of a good time.

Welcome to the Zoo!
