Waddaya do and waddya earn for it?

I’m a Technical Support Rep for DataComm Warehouse. I can’t say what I make but it’s over 35k and under 50k a year. I love my job. But then again I havea great manager

Project Admin for a Comms company.

Not enough.

I remeber my waitering/bartending days with no small amount of melancholy. I could make £150 a night tips , get paid and have a social life that just didnt stop…and I could get up whenever the hell I felt like it.

Technical support for a national ISP, $61,000 a year (including bonuses and checks I get because I had stock options but the company was bought out) - $32K is my actual salary.

I started as a junior programmer on $22,000 in 1985. Now I’m called a Senior Software Developer and my salary is just under 4 times as much as when I started.

I’m a computer technician and web page developer for an intermediate school district in Michigan (That’s a Vo-Tech school) and make $38,000 per year. The plus is that I get all the benefits that the teachers get and with the exception of summer vacation, I get all the days off that teachers get. I’m also guaranteed a pay raise every year.

Senior Models and Simulation Analyst trust me, it sounds waaaay more exciting than it is…around $60K a year.

Self employed painting contractor, with two full-time employees, and extra help in the summer when things get really busy.

Mid $50’s, and I take a lot of time off to travel.

I’m a Database Administrator. When contracting I make roughly $140 k/y. I’m in a salaried position now and I’m
just above $95 k/y. I’m getting pretty bored with the computer business after being involved in it for the last 17 years though.

All I wanna be is a pro-fisherman or a park ranger for some reason.

Principal Environmental Planner
$45,606 per year

I’m a Senior Lotus Notes Developer, but I don’t get to do a lot of work in Lotus Notes lately. Mostly I sit behind my desk as a parade of people tromp through my office and ask me bizzare technical questions.

Can we use Lotus Notes as a real time, object oriented database? The client says that their web server doesn’t serve HTML. Is that true? Why won’t my browser run this .exe file? I linked an image on my desktop to show up on my web page but when I uploaded the site to the server the image doesn’t show up. Why not?

Judging by the large number of cans in my office, I’m apparently paid with caffinated beverages.

Petroleum Pipeline Scheduler
$63,400.00

Inside sales for a newswire service. According to my W-2 I made $41,000 last year, about $36,000 of which was salary and the rest bonuses.

I make aeronautical charts for the FAA. I pull about 35 a year.

Project Analyst for one of the big three national credit bureaus.

Salary is a nice $70,000 per year.

I feel like I’m stealing money, especially at times like this when this post just cost them a couple of bucks.

This is all just information gathering for the IRS, isn’t it?

Well, I gotta say that I feel quite comfortable here, especially for being just out of college. 60+k, plus stock options due for an ipo next year.

Oh yeah, I’m a Java programmer.

Simplest way to describe my job: tech support.

Salaried at just over $50k.

I provide Unix and PERL support to a company known as Paymentech. We are the second largest credit card transaction processor in the country, having handled $109 Billion in transactions last year. They gave me around $65K in salary and bonuses for which I am on call every other week, and field 5-6 calls a night, in the middle of the night. Sucks, but you do what you have to…

O

vidi vici veni!

I have a chemical engineering degree. My current work is designing ultrapure water, gas and chemical delivery systems, process cooling water, and waste water treatment systems for the semiconductor fabrication plants that make CPUs (and sometimes memory and cell phone chips).

I make just over $75,000 USA a year, gross, with medical benefits that are nice, and a matching 401k program that buidls up gradually.

No stock options, though. But I really, really LOVE my work. There is something about designing something… and later getting to walk THROUGH it, not to mention see it WORK.

It was an accident I wound up in this profession, but no accident I stayed, even through the horrible dry periods of '87 and '93.

Coordinate any and all packaging and graphics for a company that does stuff all over the world.

round about $65k.

Tripler, is the USAF actually still called the military? (mandatory jab from a jarhead)

I work at a retail copy store in the computer department and make about $20k, which isn’t bad considering I’ve never been to college and play on the internet all day!
Can’t wait to get back to school, but after reading oldscratch’s and Upham’s posts I am ready to try bartending!
