Wait just a dang minute. Bad bad bad Ms. Beck-brain, we gotta talk

The vet tech said Jojo will not come out of the waiting room.
He watches the door for new friends to come play.
One of the other patients is out of the cage too. And apparently the zoomies are fun chasing each other down the hallway and rolling around each other.
The vet was concerned about stitches and such. But he couldn’t catch either one.

That cat is gonna shake up my house.
Son-of-a-wrek says Bayliss and Jojo had a serious nose to nose. He says they’re gonna be good friends.

ISTR James Herriot commenting that if the vet can’t catch the patient, there’s probably not a lot to worry about.

I think that pretty much sums it up

Oh, my gosh! Made my day.

Beck, all four remaining leaves on Al are blackening. I think he’s done for. Thanks for the thoughts, though, and I love the idea of avocado PJ’s!

Oooh, I’m IN!

Don’t give up on Al
Peeps forget the pit they planted. As soon as it germinates the pit starts saving water and nutrients. When the plant emerges from the soil water needs from above reduces.

Just keep it hot and dry
Avocados are a southern grown plant usually.

Oh, and I may have made all that up from whole cloth. But it’s worth a try🤗

Update on Jojo

Vet left a text. Jojo is caged for the night. He’s not happy.
Doc gave him a catnip mouse. To shut him up, I guess.
That never worked for the Siamese. I just ended up with mean wired up cats, screaming at me.

I hope Jojo calms down.
His friend cat went home so maybe he will.

Vet is pleased with his neck surgery. He had put those antibiotic beads in there. And Jojo’s upper jaw bone looks healthy.
I’m pleased with the report, overall.

I love these upbeat vet reports! And this bit has me laughing:

Everyone knows a mean drunk. You know two!

The thing is, it went into a pot several months ago. I’ve only been watering it when the soil gets dry. I read you’re supposed to stick your finger down a couple of inches, and if it’s dry down there, go ahead and water, so that’s been my guideline. And the leaves look gorgeous and healthy, a nice, rich green until the black forms on the edges and moves in.

The hot part is the problem. I live in a cool, wet, part of the country, and there’s no part of my apartment that’s particularly warm. .

Poor Al. He just got shipped to the wrong part of the country. Too bad he didn’t end up at the Wrekk Ranch .

OK, I’m going to shut up about Al, as those reading this thread want to read about you and Jojo, myself included.

How are the seizures going?

StG

Since I’ve gotten the new insulin pump and been on mild anti-seizure meds I haven’t had any more seizures.
The reason they are keeping me here is my legs.
I’m in a state of atrophy in my thighs. My knees are weak.
So my rehab consists of working on walking and step climbing. I abhor the step climber machine. It’s nearly killed me a few times.

I’m improving. I really am.
I just bitch alot😌

Update on Jojo

The report today: Jojo is being good. The tech thinks he’s getting caught up because he’s got a anesthesia/catnip hang-over.
She said he has no neck swelling and his drooling is better.
She said he’s purring and let her brush what fur he has.
And rolled over on his back to show his belly to be brushed.

She went on looking after the other cats. She looked up and he was on top of the cupboards over the wall of cages. Watching her.

So, all in all it seems like he’s doing okay, today.

B.

Two excellent health reports. :grinning: :grinning:

I tell people this often. But only the bitching part is true. I’m working on amending the physically improving part and having to admit that drugs do help.

I’m glad you are getting stronger.

And I’m happy to hear that Jojo is recovering from over-indulging. I read something yesterday that said no more than a level teaspoon at a time for thems that indulge. Oh, apparently the scent excites them into zoomies but actually eating it gives them the sleepies.

Hey, @Beckdawrek, I have not been posting in this thread, but I caught up to it last week and have been following the progress of both you and Jojo with great interest, even if I didn’t post much (well, anything at all, really!). Let me just say this:

Animals love you because you’re a wonderful loving human being and they sense it. I immensely enjoy reading about your animal adventures, and of course your brave success in getting through your medical issues.

Also, you have an amazing knack for naming your animals. I don’t know where you get it, but the names are always perfect!

There are horse whisperers, dog whisperers, and (allegedly) cat whisperers, but you, Beck, are the whisperer to all animals, great and small. It’s a reflection of who you are, and we love you for it. Take care of yourself, and keep on posting!

Maybe instead of the stair-climber, you need to dance. You used to do ballet, right? It would probably suit you better, and may help with things like balance.

StG

Competition for the Meezers., eh?

Thanks @wolfpup , you’re very sweet to say those things.
I’ve loved all animals as long as I can remember.

Well, except spiders.:frowning_with_open_mouth:

I have some weird radar when I see an animal in distress. I have to help somehow.
I usually can help in some way.
I have money enough for vet stuff. I mean it’s not and endless supply but I can do what I can do. Much to BigWreks chagrine. He is mostly ok with it.

I feel privileged to do so.

I have had no texts from the Vets office. I’m sure Jojo is ok.
They’ve probably just not been there yet.

Perhaps JoJo has wreaked havoc on their phone connections.

You know I thought of that.
The Vet texted,
Jojo is just fine. He’s draining clear liquid from his absesses. That’s a good sign.
Not completely out of the woods, tho.
Vet said he was begging to be let out.
So he opened the cage to pet him and he took off. Uncatchable.

He just left him to run loose.
Indoors the clinic.

I feel sorry for whoever opens up in the morning.
