Apparently it’s a specific kind of piercing, sucking mouth parts.
Includes bedbugs, though.

You just make sure Jojo knows who the pet is.
My entomophobia keeps me from opening links that might have insects pictures. I’m fine knowing about them in an intellectual, far removed, non visual way; not good with pictures or being in the presence of “the things that shall not be seen”.
That sounds like the right call. There are many pictures, including one of fried cicadas.
Oh, god!! I live in fear of bedbugs.
Beds other than your own( and you know for fact you don’t have them)are always suspect. I worry from hospital beds to rehab beds and hotel beds. Believe me I look. I have a little black light I carry around.
Serious serious phobia.
Uhh!.. Ewwwww.
No no no no!
Report on Jojo
He was getting his neck tube flushed and he reached around and nipped the Vet tech, on an unfortunate part of her anatomy. She went to get it treated and shots. Of course we have no way of knowing his recent background. I thought it was prudent for her to go. I told the vet I’d pay her medical costs. It’s only right that I offer. He has kind of an
office wide insurance for injuries from animals. He’s gonna let me know how much she has to pay outright.
So flushing will have him sedated from now on.
He said the gunky stuff looks pretty dang healthy. But the fact he has any means it needs to stay open. Maybe up to 2 more weeks.
I’m mortified he did it. It must’ve hurt.
I’ve been getting great reporting from the staff about how sweet he is.
I called the receptionist about his mounting bill. She said he was it her lap purring, at the time.
About his bill. She said he nearly has enough donations to cover it. I think that so amazing. But totalled is climbing to $3000.
About myself
I’m going home Thursday if everything stays good. My walking and legs are working.
I’m soooooo happy.
Wonderful news, Beck! I hope that the vet tech is OK, and I hope that there are no further setbacks for you, or Jojo.
Three grand? For an alley cat? Choose at least one:
I’m crazy, for reals.
And he’s getting donations.
Big W would most assuredly not be ok with that amount. But if comes up I’ll remind him how much money he wasted on the Catfish farming pyramid scheme.2022-04-05T16:00:00Z
He still doesn’t know how much I paid for the Siamese cats.(shhh, don’t talk about it too loud) Boy you’d think those cats would at least be nice. I paid the big bux for 2 little jerks.
There’s a whole, new chapter of your life in that if you and JoJo ever get healthy and boring.
Would the powers that be, allow a link to the donation page (and PICTURES)?
I’ll call and ask. I don’t think it’s one of those online donation/fund raising thingys.
@dropzone I think I’ve told the catfish farming failure on here. Can’t remember where.
Yeah, I have a vague memory of that.
$3K sounds like a lot, but when you average it over JoJo’s expected lifespan, it’s really…well, still a lot. But $250/yr seems to hurt less than $3K.
My dogs packed up on one of my other dogs a few years ago. $4K and an amputation later, and Frank is still with me, going strong on 3 legs.

Wow! I thought I had dog problems!
Three of mine despise the fourth one, but I just have to let him outdoors separately. Things are usually okay in the house.
I’d picked up a dumped dog off the side of the road - someone dumped a 10 month old female in heat with a bag of dogfood near my farm. I’d already made her vet appointment for shots and to schedule her spay when my dogs (except the new one, who was indoors with me) ganged up on dog Frank, and tore him up.
Normally I’d be at church on Sunday at 11:00, but I had a headache and couldn’t handle Palm Sunday Mass, now with Added Incense. I know if I’d gone to church, he would’ve been dead by the time I got home. I couldn’t let him die, he was just 2 years old. So $4K later, he’s a gimpy dog, but the other dogs are fine with him,

My cat’s emergency cesarean section cost that much back in 2018. But what else can you do? It was a kitten having kittens, at 2 a.m. Breech birth. 5 of the 6 survived and are in good homes.
I don’t think we’ll get into how much horse vet bills can run. I’ll leave it to your imaginations.
I spent a bit more than that last year to have a tumor removed from my cat’s back, followed by 4 rounds of chemo. It was ultimately unsuccessful but it was worth it to me - she was young, just under 4 years old - and I wanted her to have every chance. I don’t regret it at all because I know that I did everything I could.
