Waiting for Bob: A placeholder MMP

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Caffeinating and ready to leave for work. Blurfy today, so glad it’s Wednesday and therefore hump day.

Happy belated birthday, Missy!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Today is yahd werk day. Hopefully it is the last mowin’ of friends’ yahds but don’t count on it. This is south Jawja USofA after all and mowin’ can occur well into November.

That’s the excitement from swampland thus far.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Belated happies, Missy! - I probably caught your birthday on farcebook but there’s no reason you can’t keep the celebrations going on here, is there?

Having hot water again was lovely, I am planning a long soak in the bath tonight as I’ve had to make do with showers for the past few days and they just don’t do it for me.

I had to go on a computer training session this morning for 2hrs. You’ll be pleased to know that on a certain page of a certain application, I can now tick and untick boxes, pick things from a drop-down list and save them. Aren’t you so proud of me? The really good news is that I have another session tomorrow afternoon involving a different page of the same application. I am so looking forward to that.

For those of you who aren’t on farcebook, you will have missed out on the excitement that awaited me when I got home last night. It was recycling day and I’d put out my two boxes for emptying - the council guys just leave them on the pavement outside the house with the lids hopefully close by and not halfway up the street…and one of the boxes had a folded-up bit of paper in it. I thought it might be a new missive from the council about the recycling so I took it inside with me.

Turns out it was the detainee’s copy of the West Midlands Police bail conditions for a guy who lives on the next street and is up before the beak next month on assault charges against a woman. It has all the relevant addresses and stuff on it so I now know where the local thug lives. I guess his woman done treat him bad.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s been raining a lot here and our backyard looks like a jungle. Hopefully Mr Rebo can get the yard(s) mowed soon. However, Friday night and Saturday are all booked up for him. He has to take his GED test! He’s been studying for a month. He does not like algebra one little bit.

He didn’t graduate back in the day, and his new(ish) job requires him to get his GED within 6 months. He was only missing like 1/2 a credit or something - something he didn’t complete in the 9th grade, for goodness sake! He should have gone to summer school after 12th grade, but blew it off.

Have a great day, Mumpers.

Good luck to Mr. Rebo!

And Rosie’s sig to everybody else.

I’ve been a bit grumbly this morning but the sun is coming out and hopefully that will improve things. In case you’re interested, I found out today that schnoodles do not like mayonnaise. Which is a shame since I splatted so much of it onto the floor. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks. I was able to go home and 5 and just monitor the other person’s progress from there. She finished about 7:10. ::sigh:: At least I did get my part done during normal work hours so aside from monitoring, I didn’t really have to do much after work.

So since I was done with work, I checked out a local knitting meetup group. It was fun, and they meet weekly so I think it’ll become a routine thing. It seemed to be mostly 20- and 30-somethings, which is the group I’ve had a hard time meeting since moving here. Church and the community choir are great, but mostly people who are considerably older than I am, and we just don’t have the same interests. The only young-ish people at church all have kids so we’re just in different places in life. So hopefully this knitting group will provide something to do with other women my age. And something to do that doesn’t involve going to a bar/club/party, which is what my young coworkers want to do.

Good luck to Mr. Rebo on his GED!

That’s scary about the neighbor with the assault charges, BooFae!

Sorry to hear about the cold, gt. I don’t know why there’s such an early season cold going around, but it’s not fun.

Good luck to Mr. Rebo!

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, everyone! Y’all are the best!

Last night at the piano bar was a lot of fun. It was crowded, with a lot of singers, but I got to sing four times because they let me end the night: I did “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Miss Otis Regrets,” “Never Will I Marry,” and my signature blues song, “Built for Comfort.” I did not realize that the 7&7s I kept ordering were $9 each, though: the bill for dinner and drinks came to nearly $70! That’s waaay more than I like to spend when I’m out, especially when I’m just at a piano bar, but what the hell – it was my birthday, right?

I missed my doggy when I got home (at 1am…sooo tired today…), and am looking forward to posting her bail after work. I’m also looking forward to lunch, in about an hour, because I’m getting out of the office and meeting some friends at our “usual” lunch place. Said lunch place is quite yummy, but is also located two doors down from a Great Harvest: I see scones (and homemade dog biscuits) in my future!

Mr. Rebo, we ALL hate Algebra!

Except for The Little Mermaid, who wears one…

Groan!!!

Blurf!

We had a go-away party for a friend at the real estate office last night. Much wine and beer and then chinese food was consumed. I realize once again why this old body doesn’t want to do that stuff anymore. My head is pretty good this morning, but my gut is another matter entirely.

Happy Belated, Missy!!!

Good luck to Mr. Rebo.

Did I miss anybody?

I think I’ll go stand in the shower for a while.

Yep Bumba a sign of old age is indigestion and poop city all day after a night of partyin’ hard.

Good luck Mr. Rebo! [Barbie] Math is hard! [/Barbie]

The yahds are all mowed and stuff. I took my lopers over to one friend’s house and lopped off some low hangin’ branches that hang over his driveway and make me nuts. It’s like he’d rather have oak tree branches scrape the top of his vehicle rather than take the five minutes I did to lop off the low hangin’ branches. Then again I’m all anal about stuff like that there so maybe it’s just me.

I think I need a nappy poo.

I have totally blown off doing any real work this morning. I am headed to drive to San Diego in about an hour for a Career Fair tomorrow then I will be back tomorrow. I am not looking forward to driving through LA.

Other than that not much going on. Happy Hump Day!

Well now, *that’s *something to look forward to. Although, I’ve never been much of a partying person anyways…

Today is Laundry Day which means I won’t be able to share the story of Miss Hateful and Her Endless Complaints. Someone remind me and I’ll tell it tomorrow. She’s in town for a minute, so it’ll be an ongoing story until next week.

Good luck, Mr. Rebo!

Knitting meet-up sounds like fun, taxi! I keep meaning to go to one (there are a couple that I know of). A little too busy for that at the moment; maybe in the winter.

Great Harvest…mmmm… yummy bread.

I am extraordinarily impressed by your accomplishments, BooFae. And  at your find.

Am home, surfing the web and thinking about dinner. Cold seems to be in check. ::crosses appendages::

Back later.

Hugs.

Whew - long day!! Things were boring at work so I decided to read the Constitution. I don’t know if I ever read it all before, but it’s an amazingly elegant, simple document. How sad that so many choose to abuse it.

We went out to dinner at The Front Porch. We were seated upstairs in what was a bedroom but what is now a private dining room. It was lovely. The food was quite good. I is stuffded! And in a little bit, I’m going to bed.

**Missy **- have you heard about the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert rallies in DC on Oct 30? Wanna go? Wanna meet up? I intend to be there because I  them both!

I have survived yet another stupid work day. Got wrapped up in a project and ended up staying 30 minutes over. I walked in the door at 6:07 tonight. Blech.

At any rate, it’ll be leftover soup for chop chop tonight, because I am lazy and tired.

Good luck to Mr. Rebo. I hate algebra too, and frankly can’t even remember how to do it anymore. Actually, I hate math…period. Ironic considering my job requires me to use math all the time.

See, I think math in school and math in real life are two completely different things. I like it much better when I can understand the usefulness.

OMG, almost forgot: YET another tornado warning at work today. Got to spend almost 45 minutes in the stairwell. Big fun. The storm that came through was really bad. There were power outages and downed trees and everything. And, I found out that one of the windows in a friend’s office was damaged during last week’s storm.

Just came back from a walk and am about to settle down and crawl into bed, I think.

Hugs all.
