Rebo, Hubby’s drinking buddy looks to be at least part Schnauzer. I know that look all too well. And that is why we have doggies instead of kitties. That and the fact that our doggy would never crawl under the couch, roll on his back, and pull all the stuffing out of the cushion. Or get up on the kitchen counter at 2 in the morning and knock the dishes off onto the floor. Or leave little surprises behind the furniture. Or yowl at 4am to be fed. I could go on. And on. And on.
Thank you!! It’s been a good 'un so far: phone calls from both parents, numerous birthday wishes on Facebook, and birthday emails from my dentist and my online dating service (“happy 39th birthday…still single?” ) This morning I took Bailey to Dogtopia, and I’m looking forward to picking up a clean, tired doggy tomorrow evening. I will have a designated driver for tonight’s piano bar birthday extravaganza, and am being picked up at around 6:30…too bad I have to be able to work tomorrow.
In other news, I’m still waiting for last week’s contingent job offer to become final. It’s been a week since I signed and returned the letter of intent, and I’m getting antsy…
I’m a bad Mumper, and haven’t been able to respond much to what’s going on with everyone else. Work is busy now, and will be until I leave, but I really do read (almost) every post!
I’ve been rather tired and crabby today. I even tried to take a nap but it didn’t work. While I was out shopping I picked up some stuff for a new silverware project, so that should at least be fun.
I am back from the dentist and starving. But still so numb I had better not eat or I will bite my cheek and bleed!
I have to go back for another fillign next week on the oppostite side - this is to repair a 20+ year old filling. Have I mentioned I hate the dentist? Have I mentioned I ended up crying before they even started today. Next week I am going with ‘pre-medication’ as the repair will take longer than the little filling I had today and I might not make it through without having to peel me off the ceiling.
I am having an extremely frustrating waiting-filled day. I have a lot that needs to get done, but I need input from another team. I haven’t had an update in an hour, and the other person has a meeting on her calendar in 15 min. If she goes to that meeting, I am going to be plenty pissed. This stuff has to be done today, and if I have to stay late because she goes to that other meeting… grrrrrrrrr!
I used to like working with this person because she is really smart and really understood this stuff better than the others on her team a couple years ago. But they caught up, and they actually stay focused. Now I dread having to work with this person. And she’s the one who’s going to be training their newbie. I really want to ask if one of the other teammates can train the newbie instead, but I suppose that would be a politically bad move, huh?
Well, at least those of you who are waiting for stuff picked the correct MMP to do it in.
Happy Birthday, Missy!
Yay for hot water, BooFae!
Cool new furniture, StG.
Hope you’re feeling better soon, Coyote.
Home, have been to the grocery store, had soup and salad for dinner, and started some chicken soup for tomorrow. Little brother is here between trips and has a cold. And I seem to be coming down with something too (I have a co-worker who was sick late last week; I’m guessing I may have caught it from her or from one of the many others around who seem to have whatever’s going around).
So, I 'm thinking I’ll get to bed early and hope to avoid whatever’s trying to get me…
Well that was a disappointing game. On the bright side, I got to tailgate with friends. On the dark side, Gordie is on THE LIST for eating some computer cables. Oh well.
Happy Birthday Missy!!!.
Well, whadda ya know! Years ago I tried Aleve for joint pain and it did nothing but since Tylenol wasn’t helping me and I can’t take ibuprofen (eats my stomach lining) and I’m avoiding aspirin I decided to give it another shot and it worked! I am in much less pain and was able to function today.
I don’t think it’s Missy’s birthday any more, is it?
Happy belated birthday, Missy!
I need to find a really-firm pillow, but apparently the world has decided that we’re not allowed to sleep on the side any more. The pillows which claim to be “extra firm” and “for side sleepers” are almost as soft as the other ones, damnit. And, since they’re sold bagged up all tight, you can’t push and punch and twist them to see whether they are firm or not. Firm means firm, something with the general solidity of a bag of flour is not firm!
