I had a blurf today - couldn’t sleep last night because it was too hot and humid, and the fan in the bedroom is noisy. Well, not exactly noisy but I am an extremely light sleeper so even with earplugs in, I can hear it. Tonight promises to be hotter and stickier, perhaps if I wear myself out at the gym, I will just collapse into bed and not know anything until morning.
Today has involved a 2hr training session on monitoring our overseas students. That “training” meant watching 2hrs of powerpoint stuff and being talked at. Feedback was not entirely complimentary.

So, leftover pizza and a handful of sweet cherries for lunch. Tasty and relatively healthy. The pizza was just fungus and cheese. I need to make a real meal for supper tonight - I think I’ll stop at the Amish market and see what’s shakin’ there. I do have a cantaloupe to cut up. I want some 'mater, and I’ll see what else they have.
I need peaches, too. We’re almost out of peach jam. Maybe I’ll make some this weekend. It’s gonna be too doggone hot to venture out. I was going to go visit my mom, but if **FCD **heads to FL as he planned, I’ll be stuck with the truck. I don’t trust it on that long a trip in such heat - if I had a breakdown, it would be most unpleasant. Plus much as Higgs hates going in any vehicle, I can’t drive 2 hours with her trying to climb in my lap.
Howdy Y’all! I have finished defilthyfyin’ da cave and had a sammich and some chips. 'Tis quite hawt out so I envision some cee-mint pond time this afternoon. I tested the water earlier and 'tis nice and cool. A mix of peas ‘n butterbeans plus fried okra and cornbread shall accompany the poke for dindin. The peas ‘n butterbeans are already cooked so they’ll just need warmin’ up. Okra and cornbread are easy to deal with so dindin will be tasty and not a lot to prep. I want to go to the biiiiiiiiiiiig farmer’s market down in Thomasville soon. I just may make a day trip either tomorrow or Thursday. I’m thinkin’ some veggies to “put up” for the Winter would be a good thing.
The idiots at the mortgage company didn’t reduce my mortgage payment.
Since it’s going into escrow, I’ll just treat like a forced savings account and they’ll owe me money at some point in time. The extra $40/month they are charging me won’t kill me.
We recently got a check for our escrow overage, since our homeowners insurance went down. A whopping $150-ish if I recall.

I’m just now sitting down to lunch. I audited the area that I’m covering for cow-orker this morning/afternoon. Couldn’t the !@#ing !@#%^&s figure out that their printer needed ink? I had to haul fully half of the cartons to a computer to look up the paperwork that was printed too light to see. An audit that should have taken 1.5 hours tops took 3.5 hours. Ijits!
They are charging me $90/month for a policy of $580/year.
At least they fixed the annual amount and switched over to my insurance company - not the one they use, which was charging over $1000/year and I’m sure providing less coverage.
My suspicious mind says they did it on purpose.
In from the cee-mint pond. We have a “significant weather advisory” in effect until 4:45 P.M. Don’t know what that means exactly but the wind is pickin’ up so I put all the floats in the pool buildin’. When OYKW gets here I’ll fry okra ('tis all ready to be fried), bake cornbread ('tis all ready to be baked), and warm up the peas ‘n butterbeans. The poke is already warm in the slow cooker. I’s beginnin’ to be hongry!
I’m having a no spoons day as well. I need to find muscle people to finish putting my stuff in the trailer, so the nice truck people can take it. It would probably take 2 buffed up sorts 30 minutes or so. It’s all packed up and ready for someone it heave it onto the trailer. I cannot find these someones. My DH is freaking out because he has a product launch this week, which makes things extra fun at home.
Bad migraine (as opposed to the daily migraine) for the last several days, which doesn’t help. Stoopid head. I am seeing the neurologist tomorrow to review all of the tests she just ordered. Neurosurgeon will be chiming in on some of it. And, to top it off, I have a suspicious lump in right breast and will have to have further testing. Whee!
Home and fed. We had chickie nuggets, N.O.T. lumps, fresh Amish 'maters, and leftover green beans and leftover peas. The green beans and peas that weren’t eaten were trashed. Oh, and peach pie for later.
It’s overcast, but we’re not supposed to get any rain. Alas.
**FCD **won’t be going to FL this week after all. So I may go to Mom’s myself, since I can use the car and I won’t have to take the dog. I think I’ll go up Firday evening and come home some time on Saturday. I should probably rescind my email to her.
Dindin got ingested along with ice cream for dessert. Life is good. We shall go to the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig farmers market in Thomasville on Sattidy. OYKW wants to go especially cause the market does have a really, really, really good restaurant. Thus, I believe I shall go to a smaller farmers market in Cordele (watermelon capitol of the world), Jawja. What’s a life of leisure without exotic travel after all.
