Something on the web is wrong?
Happy Firday!
Blurf
Lunch time!!! And I definitely need the break. Getting a lot done, but I’m making some stupid mistakes. Time to step back, have a ham sammich, and turn off my technical brain for a bit.
So, wassup, peeps?
TGIF even though I’m spending it inside with the a/c full-blast and a pile o’ books. And my kitty. She loves to be NEAR me, but not next to me. She will sit on the ottoman or the floor if I am in my chair. She will be on her perch if I am on the couch (her perch is at the end of the couch). But she does sleep in the bed with me, although at the other end of the bed.
I have no idea what I’m having for lunch or dinner.
Today I am taking the girl child and friends to the Monterey Bay Aquarium for her going away shindig. I am dreading. I don’t do so well with “being outside”, “sun”, “loud environments”, etc. Still, it must be done. On the other hand, looking past all of the migraine triggers, the Bay is beautiful. I am glad we can do we one last she loves before we leave. One friend has arrived. We are waiting for the rest before we head out.
2 days after heaving my last bale for a few weeks, I still feel as those I have been flattened by a steamroller. Just rolling over in bed hurts like the dickens. I guess it’s true - I am not 29 anymore!
Howdy Y’all! Mowage has been accomplished followed by hosin’ grass and ick off myself and a dive in the cee-mint pond in my underwear. I felt y’all needed that mental image.
I am now all showered and have had N.O.L. This afternoon is all about chillage. Ahhhhhhhh retired life!
**swampy **- which underwear? The leopard-print hi-cut briefs or the gold lamé thong?
Silly flytrap, have you never played with the zoom lenses? ![]()
Mooooom, have fun at FCGMa’s!
I’m slammed today and will start next week slammed with another one (of two) of my cow-orkers out Monday and Tuesday. I am getting my revenge though; I’ll be out over month end. ![]()

Admittedly, it’s been a while (too long, really) since I’ve been to the Aquarium, but my recollection is that it’s mostly inside, dim and not obnoxiously noisy. Sounds perfect, unless you know that the group you’re shepherding is noisy.
Once I’m done poking this ice pick thru my brain to kill any cells that might remotely be able to imagine that I’m coming after the two of you with it.
I had my nap and now I fee like a human again.
Still a bit grumpy though.
Doesn’t want ruin lame? Wouldn’t it have to be the leopard print?
Have a safe trip FCM. I think I would avoid all things 50, the OC traffic is going to be horrendous.
I do not envy anybody packing and moving.
Flytrap - Sah-son is 21. I agree Ruble, he needs a turkey leg and mead. I didn’t know you could sew Rosie.
We got the hat here - http://www.revivalclothing.com/
We were thinking about taking Percy back today, now Sah-son feels bad about taking him back. So we’ll give him a bit longer, but I think you are right Red, he is not meant to be a pet.
I just think he doesn’t have much of a life here, hiding in the corner all day.
Steak fries are ready to go in the oven and burgers are ready to be grilled. I’s hongry!
MOOOOOOM don’t be silly! I’d never mow in my good undies.
Sari I think I’ve mentioned this before but my mom and dad had an outside or “barn” cat who was just as happy as she could be outside. They could catch her to take her to the vet and she would come up to the house to eat (when nobody was around) and even occasionally even allow herself to be petted but she was an outside cat that wouldln’t even think about comin’ inside. The one time she accidentally did come in the house she paniced immediately and was back at the door yowlin’ like somebody was beatin’ her to get out. Tiger wanted no truck with the inside.
Stepdaughter’s (v.2.0) cat “escaped” outside, and sat on the steps with her tail curled over her feet, waiting to be rescued. “It’s dirty out there!”
Burgers and fries have been ingested. They were good. Life is good. All is well. Carry on.
Home finally. Steak night but too tahred to wait so may skip food altogether opened one beer and drank half and decided tonight is not a beer night. Just want to sleep but not twilight sleep. I need sound deep uninterrupted sleep. Irking all weekend to complete a project with a short fuse that was just put on me yesterday.
I am unwell. I have a cold. It is affecting my throat and now just moved into my nose.
No big deal, I suppose, apart from just being a huge uncomfortable inconvenience. I very rarely get sick, so when I do it can hit quite hard as my fairly strong immune system was breached.
I was so uninspired after work that dinner was cornflakes and milk. Getting some stuff done on the Sportie tomorrow and hoping it gets done fast enough that I can go on a memorial ride for one of the members of my old (now defunct) HOG chapter. And Kennywood on Sunday for a rollercoaster event. Oh — and if I didn’t mention it earlier I fixed the flapper in the toilet. Such is the excitement of the life that is mine.
It wasn’t too hot, at least in Monterey. It was very, very crowded, but a good time was had by all. The girl’s friends chipped in and got her a necklace with a charm from each of them as a going away present. It was very sweet.
Now, off to a movie. ![]()
This weekend is going to suck, hard core. It’s supposed to be stupid hot and we’re moving the furniture over to the new house.
Airman finally told his stepfather that we’re moving and was surprised by the lack of fireworks. He’d been expecting the guy to go ballistic and… nothing. Either there is a shoe waiting to drop or he’s relieved that we’re moving and he can do whatever he wants to with the house. I’m just glad the handwringing and stress are over.
Now all we have to do is move…
Ugh. Moving in the height of the hot hot heat…ugh.
I am still waiting to hear from the job that was checking my references (there was a bit of a hiccup re the online process of reference checking), but I also found another just-so-perfect job, so keep those appendages crossed, please!
