Best $400.00 I ever spent.

sari, one of the hardest things I had to do was step back and let my kid do things her way, even tho I knew better. In elementary school, you definitely ride their little butts, but in college, just back off and remind yourself there’s more to education than what goes on in a classroom and how one does on a test. You don’t like how he’s dealing with this test situation, but it’s his test and you don’t get a vote. So, take a deep cleansing breath, cuss me out if you want, and let him deal. He knows you’re there if he needs you, but he needs to know that he can deal himself.

Yeah, easy for me to say, since my baby is now a successful professional in her own right. She had the advantage of me being 800+ miles away when she was in college…

And on that note, I need to go to bed. I’s tahred and even tho I don’t have to get up early tomorrow, I will, because Higgs. So nighty night, all!

MWAH!!

Since we have several Mothers here…

It seems that one day Mama Plant still considered me to be in grade school, and suddenly expected me to find her wedding ring in the plumbing and repair her dishwasher.
She complained to me that one of her cohorts could still drive at ninety, and my Father died at fifty-two. I responded, “Mama, shit happens”, and she responded, “Yes, it does.”

What gives?

I’m on your side in this one. Walking away from anything before its finished is a bad habit and an easy one too fall into.

Something like this.

Back from the Leather Club and dinner is done and we are tired. See ya’ll tomorrow.

:dubious:

Work was irk-y. First of the month ,so everybody had cash for recreational pharmacueticals. Canes laid an egg. I need a drink.

A. There have been a few days(usually a March 18th morning) where canicide seemed reasonable and prudent. And check Amazon. You can get a rebuilt PC for around $200.

One thing I really hated about Christmases at Dollar Tree, was I came home every day looking like an extra from a Twilight movie.

PACKERS WIN!

Woo Packers!

Ewwww

What’s the question now?

Endorsed

Raining so hard it woke me. BLURF. OK. Back to sleep I hope.

Up, caffeinated. off to work.

Kinda sorta got to sleep in till 5:30. Apparently when I put Higgs in her crate last night, I didn’t secure the door properly. So about 5:30, she came leaping on to our bed. At least it wasn’t 3AM…

I’m breakfasting. **FCD **is off to work. It’s hovering around freezing out there, so I’m thinking I may not hang the laundry outside today. No car so I’m stuck at home. Just another day in paradise.

Happy Firday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 45 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 61 and sunny. Nice. Normal weather for this time of year. I am irkin’ from da cave today. YAY! OK, I do have to make visits to a couple local places but those won’t take a whole lot of time. The rest of the irk day will involve a conference call, catchin’ up on some case notes, and doin’ some more online trainin’ stuff since I have started to fall behind again. ICK!

sari personally I think sah-son should retake the test. However, it does need to be his decision. Then again I am not a parent so what do I know, except sometimes one does need to stand on one’s own two feet.

doggio you reminded me of one of my favorite places to be around fourish on a Firday afternoon, the liquor sto’. So much fun to watch all the people cashin’ their paychecks and loadin’ up on hooch. I am easily entertained.

OK, that’s all I got for now. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Firday Y’all!

NBC now has an annual tradition of airing a live production (in their studios, no audience) a Broadway musical. Two years ago, they showed Sound of Music, but Carrie Underwood was a mistake in casting as Maria. Last year it was Peter Pan which was a mistake on EVERY level - especially Christopher Walken as Captain Hook.

This year, however, they redeemed themselves. The Wiz was well paced, well staged, and well cast. Although, some of the dialog was too quiet. The tornado was played by Cirque du Soleil.

Blurf! We are having a bake sale in our building today, cakes are selling very well and we are making some money for a very good cause (Macmillan cancer nurses) so it’s all good. I’ve been helping to sell stuff for a while, one of my co-irkers is manning the stall all day because he wants to avoid writing some meeting minutes and he’s also nursing a hangover from last night. I may go and help out again shortly, but I have got some work to do beforehand.

sari - has sah-son made a decision yet? I would be urging him to retake the test if he is allowed to do so, and also to look at why he is making such heavy weather of it all.

Tonight I am off to see Dreadzone and the Levellers in concert which I am inordinately excited about. It’s in one of our local venues so it’s going to be a really good night - and of course there will be dancing, singing and beer. Perfect! That’ll be me nursing the hangover tomorrow then

OMG! I forgot to blurf!
BLURF!

I have been puttin’ casenotes in the system and just waitin’ for nine 0’clock so I can ummm… participate in a conference call. Of course by participate I mean play free cell and solitaire while listenin’ to people yak on and on and on.

I have declared today to be Sweatsuit Day! Having showered, I’m wearing my sage green sweats and slippers, because I can.

It’s almost time for the jeans to go out on the lines and the towels to go into the washer. Butter is out softening for cookies. Go me!!!

I got up early today. Accomplished a bit of work on crafts. I’m still so behind in a lot of things. Ah well.

You work with yaks, that’s so cool? Do you work with any other bovids like gazelles, or any other Tibetan creatures like Yetis?
I took something in to get framed on (Small Business - which I forgot about) Sat; they said 2-3 weeks. There was a message on the machine when I got home on Wed that it was done. I picked it up last night. I love when places over deliver like that. She explained that it was an easy job & they wanted to clear it out before the holiday rush so that they have the room.

Happy Firday!

My bladder let me sleep last night.

It’s a sunny 40 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 50.

Sah-son is retaking the test. He is up and ready to go as soon as my am shift is over. I’m glad he decided to do it,and his professor sent him a nice email saying that is great. She told him he deserves an A in the class and she would like to see him get it.

I agree FCM and Swampy - I do need to take a giant step back from this. He needs to get some friends his own age and talk to someone other than me and his grandmother.
BooFae it all goes back to his crippling shyness. If he could take the test at home he’d be more relaxed and have an easier time of it. Just going to the testing center is hard for him.
That is why I can’t believe he actually spoke up at the center and talked to his professor. I’m glad he did, but very surprised.
Another reason I wanted him to take the test though, one more chance to get out and do something. The more he does this the more confident he’ll get.

Today is also run to the grocery store day. I need to get that order sent in. Then pay some bills.
Then I really do have to pick a new insurance plan.
