Waking up too early for the MMP

I’m at one of my Nerd Camps this weekend so I shall be scarce. Blurf, y’all.

Up, caffienated, off work. I shall go to the Bistro for some college football today.

But when the right people suck, dating’s fun. Hope it does get better for you…

Ice has been acquired. Beer is iced down. Other ice awaits for more beeverages that shall arrive. Wings are in the slow cooker. I’m told stuffed jalapeño peppers are bein’ made even as I post. Chikin for dindin (which shall be around fourish) will get heated up in a slow cooker in a couple hours. 'Tis cloudy out. Partay time nears!

Your welcome Jim. I also get the email MOOOOOOM sends to family etc. The Mumper one is the abbreviated version. So far it looks like the [del]life of a pirate[/del] life of a tourist on the high seas agrees with her.

This morning I went to the local cafe. I was drinking coffee when a Vance Joy song came on the radio. Win-win.

I need to get back to work on crafts, after getting caught up on the Dope.

I was going to post something like that, but I thought, “no, 'Plant, that’s just too tacky. Wait and a while, and dogbutler will pipe up.”

Glad I could make your day.:stuck_out_tongue:

Here’ lemme fix that for you “Plant[del], that’[/del]s just too tacky” to make it “Plant’s just too tacky”.

You’re welcome.

We finally, FINALLY got to pick up my husband’s car from the shop yesterday. This coming Tuesday would have been three weeks in the shop! I’m so glad it’s finally done, although I swallowed hard when I handed my credit card over to pay the bill. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, life goes on and the car should now pass emissions. They essentially rebuilt the front half of the engine.

We are supposed to go to some friends’ house today. They invited us over earlier this week. Also, my husband needs to get his car emissions tested again, and get his license plate tabs. Tomorrow, we’re supposed to go to some other friends’ house. They live out a ways, but we always have a good time visiting with them.

FCM’s cruise sounds nice, if rather exhausting. Rush here! Rush there! RUSH! RUSH! RUSH! I’m just not a cruise kind of gal, I guess. I much prefer to be on my OWN time when I’m on vacation.

I don’t think I could ever go on a cruise. I get motion-sick (and panicky) enough on planes, and it would be worse on a boat, I’m sure.

Working on crafts and music arrangements.

Hey, Doggio, did you get a beer multipack for the weekend?

  • Make sure to watch the video at the bottom & how they get it out of the cooler & transport it!

I saw that on Facebook. Now I have to do a Smokey and The Bandit style roadtrip to Texas.

You are thinking of sundews, Drosera, not Venus Flytraps,* muscipula*.

Happy Saturday all! I have to say that I am enjoying the emails from FCM about the cruise; I just checked where they are now, they’re in Liverpool! I wonder if there were any tours of Beatles hangouts?! LOL I did hear on the news this morning that the UK is on Red Alert for terrorist threats - I really hope that won’t affect any excursions. Not sure exactly why they went to that alert. That was the top of the news on the Saturday Today show, which I turned off right after that. Heh. And yes, I enjoy Swampy’s missives too. Thank you for sharing, Swampy - he’s probably enjoying his party at the cee-mint pond right now, though. LOL

Doggio, if you swing thru Texas, you might as well drop in to ABQ, it’s right next door. And then you can have some of the fresh roasted Hatch ™ chiles while you’re here. You’d like them, I suspect. They are so good when they’re fresh roasted!

Rosie, what do you all do at the nerd camp? Inquiring minds, you know. LOL Sometimes, I live vicariously through other’s activities. I imagine myself cruising the British Isles … until I think of the ship’s rocking motion, that is! I also don’t think I’d be wanting to climb up any steep paths. I am not a goat! :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I hope everyone has a good day today.

Wind up toy car races, and board games.

Afternoon all!

Had football again, which is the only work for the week. It’s getting far beyond a joke now, that’s two months in a row where doing every shift I was offered was still not enough to pay the rent. It wasn’t too bad, at least, 'cos they won, so the threatened mini-riot didn’t happen.

I think I’d go stir crazy on a cruise; I like being spontaneous far too much. I don’t enjoy tours, because I want to be the person who decides when I’m ready to do something else.

By the way, I can’t see the terror threat level change having much impact on Moooom’s cruise (unless there is a major attack of course); we were at that level for something like 3 years at one point recently. I never noticed any difference, despite going in and out of the country several times in that period.

Sour grapes on my part, but I don’t think I could be in England with seeing the Imperial War Museum.

Got the last parking spot at the Bistro. It was kinda empty inside, at least till State started loosing, then it started filling up. I think they are 1-15 in the last 16 games I’ve been able to watch. :open_mouth:
** Flytrap **, I agree with you on the IWM.

Even scarcer than usual because of new puppy…and now allergies. :frowning: We’re trying to find a new home for the puppy before my brother leaves on his next trip (Tuesday or Wednesday, I can’t remember). Did I mention :frowning:

Haven’t read, so rosie’s sig to all. Hope to be back posting more often soon since huge project at work has been delayed some, which should make work life a bit more bearable.

Hugs all.

GT

rosie, what’s nerd camp? Somehowthe mention of it makes me feel that I was deprivedas a child.

Went to one of my regular meet ups at Dragon Park this morning. We drank coffee, ate bagels, visited and worked up some good arrangements of folk songs. I sang, played tambourine and C and F recorders. We also had a fiddler, a guitarist, a mandolinist and another percussionist. We worked on some Celtic songs and some from the folk revival of the fifties and sixties.

Take the bus there; drive Trans Am home. It’s 8 years newer, but even more awesome!
