It would just be a total dick move to bring in Evan Peters dressed as Quicksilver from the Fox movies and NOT have him be that guy. It would be insane to do that.
But he’d be Quicksilver, and the X Men would be X Men, just the ones of the universe of the movies, or Pietro of core MCU.
I’m saying he could be another Quicksilver. Similar to the Peter Parker from Into the Spider verse, who shared a lot of similarities to the Tobey Macguire Spiderman but was also a different character. That way you have a multiverse without being bogged down by the established history of a character.
This episode broke one of my core rules for any tv/movie.
You don’t hurt the dog - ever.
I also realize it was necessary for the narrative, and seems like a clue that dove tails into the theory above about multiple Wandas.
As usual, MCU is very good at what they do - and this series is at the point of “why are you making me wait a week…”
Wow. Was literally just talking about the whole “two Quicksilvers” to my wife a few minutes before the really good one from the X-men movies showed up.
So Disney owns those movies? Are we saying Wolverine could show up in a Marvel movie now? Please!
Yes, and yes. Though likely not Hugh Jackman.
Yes. Disney bought 20th Century Fox, and now owns the movie rights to the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, including the movies they’ve already made. You can actually stream most of them on Disney+.
Hugh Jackman has indicated that after Logan he really doesn’t want to return to the role, but some Wolverine is pretty certain to show up in the MCU at some point.
Hence why being a different universe of the multiverse X-Men group … gets around why they have not been in the core MCU and why some characters of the X-Men look different than ones of the other X-Men. They are separate universes, even if they can cross over.
It’s the ultimate continuity cheat with a hand wave. No worry ever about what is canon
Maybe the X-Men movies exist as movies in the MCU.
I read Agnes as being fearful – but not necessarily of Wanda. She seems to realize that she’s in a show, and she’s very protective of ensuring that the show unfolds according to script. When Vision goes off script, she seems to just assume that Wanda will reset the scene as she has in the past. When she doesn’t, she’s not sure how to respond and just gets back in character.
But Wanda doesn’t seem to have any hold on her. I think it’s likely that rumors are correct and Agnes is an agent of or in thrall to another power that wants WandaVision to run smoothly with no interruptions. It’s fear of this other player that motivates her to keep things in line.
…I’ve gone full circle on where I think the plot is going here. I originally thought that Wanda was the big bad and that everything going on in the town was her fault and she did it because she was grieving the loss of Vision and her brother.
But the fact that we are midway through the season and the (very bad) SWORD Director-man seems to completely agree with me leads to me believe I’ve gotten things completely wrong
So here’s where I think its going. (All speculation on my part, nothing based on any spoilers that are out there. )
Ralph is the witness that Jimmy Woo was looking for, and is probably the big bad, and most likely to either be a returning character or another X-men crossover (like Magneto or Professor X?) than some of the characters others have speculated over. (I’m secretly hoping for the same level of guest star escalation that worked so well in the Mandalorian. ) Agnes is his helper.
Wanda has a degree of control over the Hex. But she is mainly using that control to keep everybody else in the Hex alive. Somebody else is controlling the narrative, Wanda is playing along because its the only way to keep everybody else safe. Wanda hasn’t killed anyone. Expelled Monica once she found out she was from the outside to keep her from being found out. Perhaps that’s what the rewinds are: Wanda hiding things from Ralph and Agnes and when Agnes asked Wanda if she wanted to start the scene over she was telling Wanda that “they knew what she was doing.”
But I’ve probably got it wrong again This show would have been SO different if it had dropped all at once. Its nice to not know how it is all going to end.
Yes, but…
If they’re cribbing partially from the “Vision” comic limited series (which I suspect they are, since they called the dog “Sparky”) he might be back…
I think that was at least heavily implied, in particular with the way they showed her clothes changing properties in a long-term way. She did go through some sort of radiation field there, after all.
Well whatever is happening, SWORD has really dropped the ball on what should be their reason for existing. I’m guessing this is why they haven’t name-dropped calling in more supers. Hawkeye at least has a tiny connection.
Well since I’m guessing they were trying to covertly develop Vision’s corpse into a weapon, they may not want other Avengers aware.
I don’t see Wanda AS a big bad, and I see Monica as likely mistaken - it’s not ALL Wanda. But I do this possibly as her path to the Dark Side for a bit. With others Driving Miss Wanda there.
Other Avengers will become aware, but by then it will be too late.
Which Avengers? As far as I can tell, the Avengers currently consist of Sam Wilson, Rhodey, and maybe Scott Lang (with Bruce Banner and Clint Barton as Avengers Emeritus). All good men, but not people SWORD really needs to worry about.
Tony made Spiderman an Avenger in IW. Captain Marvel PROBABLY is one also.
Spidey’s in high school and Captain Marvel probably isn’t even on Earth.
Is there actually an Avengers roster in the MCU? Seems to me it’s just a catch-all for all the super powered good guys, especially since their two “leaders” have been offed.
Yeah. The one time that Cap told the Avengers to assemble, there were thousands of people there acting as if he was talking to them.
