WandaVision on Disney +. Open spoilers

Does anyone know anything about the relationship between Captain Marvel and Monica & Maria? Maybe Monica just doesn’t feel like explaining that whole backstory to anyone.

The facial expression was more than that.

Also there were the scans and labs that didn’t work on Monica, and she didn’t seem surprised by that. And her flight suit said “Photon”. I’m thinking Monica has already got some degree of her powers from the comics and that’s why she could enter and survive in the Hex.

No, it’s a way to introduce the Multiverse. That way you can also justify the multiple Hulks, Spider-Mans, Fantastic Fours, and other potential contradictions by bringing them into canon. And then bring the X-Men officially into the current MCU.

I think she got them when Wanda blasted her.

I think I was unclear. IF his appearance is random and without consequence THEN it is a jerk move. I don’t think it is. I think is exactly as you say.

Zero chance it’s a random cameo, that’s Quicksilver from the Fox movies in the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame had a scene where the Ancient One gave Banner (and the audience) a lecture on divergent timelines and parallel universes. Ant-Man and the Wasp set up the existence of the Quantum Realm (aka the Microverse), and the next movie will likely center on it. Spider-Man: Far From Home has as a central plot point a character claiming to be a hero from a parallel universe (although he turns out to be a con-man from the “core” MCU Earth). WandaVision is about Wanda creating a pocket alternate reality - which seems to have drawn in a parallel universe version of her brother. The upcoming Loki is about an alternate timeline Loki working with/against the Temporal Variance Authority in fixing/manipulating timelines. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness probably involves the multiverse in some way.

Yes, it seems like you’re right, the current MCU “phase” is centered around exploring the Multiverse, is what I’m saying.

That’s where I’m leaning - she has a lot of control, but not all of it. There’s something else (or multiple things elses) that is influencing or bending the story in a way that she can’t/doesn’t control. We also know that Westview is “what you make it.” Perhaps this is what happens when multiple highly powered people are “making it” at the same time.

There may be something to technology? She’s never had power in that area. And so far, the radio broadcast and the email are two things that have slipped from the outside in.

Also, part of Vision’s origin story is Jarvis was very-nearly destroyed and still managed to keep some of the brakes on Ultron without being fully conscious (for lack of a better word). It could be that a destroyed Vision is doing the same thing to Wanda (and whoever else) without being fully there.

That was two machines interacting with each other though, Vision has no way to do that to Wanda.

Yes, I was thinking of Umbrella Academy and Young Justice when Wanda was trying to get the babies to sleep.

OK, new hypothesis. Wanda isn’t puppetting Vision’s dead corpse. Rather, she’s using power to, er, power Vision’s body. Vision animated when the Mind Stone was implanted in his head (and being jumpstarted by Thor’s lightning). Wanda (and Pietro) gained her powers from Loki’s Scepter, within which was the Mind Stone. So Wanda is directly powering Vision with the same stuff that was powering him the first place, but not driving him; he’s his own independently entity.

Also, regarding Pietro:

Summary

X-Men in the MCU!!!

Pure speculation, but im guessing when Thanos destroyed this universes Infinity Stones, it created a vacuum which is pulling in other aspects of universes. They are all starting to run together…hence the comment “She doesn’t have a nickname? An alias?” “The hex”…Wanda having powers closer to the comics version

So as others have intimated, Phase 4 is: “What a mess!!!??” I hope it ties into Loki and clears up some questions i have about it

Edit: I was hoping next ep would have Woo and Darcy going into ‘the hex’ as X-File agents but I guess not since she’s onto that trick.

Someone mentioned that the Audio Accessibility (for those who can’t see the show) confirms it, so I listened in.

Narration: [Wanda] goes to the front door and Vision hangs back as she swings it open. Wanda's jaw drops.

Narration: In the command tent, Darcy rushes to her workstation. As she grabs her notebook, something on the vintage TV catches her eye and she sinks into her seat.

Vision: Wanda, who is this?

Narration: Seen from behind, a man with bleached blond hair stands on their front step. At her workstation, Darcy's mouth falls open. In Westview, Wanda stares at the version of Pietro from the X-Men films.

SFX: Audience cheers!

Narration: He smiles and steps inside.

Pietro: Long lost bro get to squeeze his stinkin' sister death or what?

SFX: Audience laughs

Darcy: She recast Pietro?

Narration: Wanda casts a stunned glance at Vision, who eyes the sibling suspiciously.

Wanda: Pietro?

Narration: Her bewildered eyes filling with tears, Wanda embraces Pietro.

SFX: Audience cheers

Pietro: Who's the popsicle?

SFX: Audience laughs

Also, as we move into a 90s episode, I’m very much looking forward to Pietro being Uncle Jesse to the twins

I think they want the audience to catch on to this now. The director went through Wanda’s history earlier in the episode and explicitly mentioned Lagos.

If anyone was wondering, that was not Olsen and Bettany singing the theme song…pity.

The theme songs have all been written by the same team who wrote the songs for Frozen. They not only nail the tone, the lyrics are clever references to the plot, while simultaneously sounding like a generic TV theme.

Also remember…losing the time stone is supposed to be a BFD. And that aint around no more.

I wonder if the (real) Endgame here will be Hickmans Time Runs Out. But that will be wayyyy down the line

Regarding Pietro, I’m not entirely sure he’s exactly the same Quicksilver from the X-Men movies. While the MCU is obviously moving towards the multiverse, I think what they’ll be doing is bringing in alternate versions of characters we’ve already seen. We’ve seen this already with JK Simmons back as JJJ. Jamie Foxx is coming back as Electro, but he’s said he won’t be the same Electro as ASM2.

Yes, I was thrilled to see the Lopezes credited for the various theme songs. They’re just too damn clever.
