Warehouse 13 - Season 2

Is it just me or was the Claudia/Todd thing handled very awkwardly? It felt like there were a couple of episodes of relationship build up missing; we jumped directly from ‘awkward first date’ to ‘making out on the couch’ to ‘discovering true depth of feeling through possible fling with another’ to ‘being broken up with when it really hurts’ in the span of barely one and a half episodes…

I thought that, but then immediately also thought that that’s pretty much how it works in real life. Most relationships don’t last past the first date. Many don’t last past the second.

Random thoughts:

  1. I wonder where Leena’s been the last couple of episodes.

  2. When’s H.G. Wells coming back?

  3. Loved the way Pete stepped up to the plate and went all intense bad-ass when Myka was down for the count.

  4. I am madly in love with Artie.

  5. Todd will be back. Unless Pete punches him in the head. One thing I’ve noticed about Pete, you don’t mess with his chicks. See point 3.

  6. IIRC Myka’s ankle tattoo is an infinity symbol; we got a good look at it in the Alice episode in season 1. Hell, maybe Alice is the one who got the tattoo!

I don’t watch Eureka, but I’m looking forward to Friday’s episode. Just a little extra taste of WH13 to hold me over until Tuesday.

I just started watching Eureka from the first season and am sort of wondering how they can share the same universe. Eureka’s world doesn’t accept magic or items inhabited by evil spirits, but the Warehouse does. And the Warehouse is run by a shadowy group of mysterious beings who live incognito, whereas Eureka is run by the Department of Defense and a corporation. You also have to figure that if the Warehouse existed in Eureka’s America, they’d be checking items out of the Warehouse all the time to do experiments on them.

The jury is still out on that… we have yet to get a real good mythos for the nature of the artifacts. I think they are going for ‘advanced science that looks like magic’.

Edgar Alan Poe’s pen was high technology?

Well, to be fair, many of the artifacts have been of the “advanced science the world wasn’t ready for (the farnsworth, the tesla, etc)”, and a few arre just down right paranormal.

Anybody else annoyed Artie suffered no bad consequences from taking someone’s life to save his own in the first episode of the season? They even made a joke about the Phoenix in the modelling episode. I would have at least expected Mrs. Frederic to be angry about it, if only because she would have had to walk home.

Artie didn’t do it on purpose, though. MacPherson slipped the phoenix artifact into Artie’s pocket without him knowing, IIRC.

This is correct - Its more McPherson’s fault that the driver died than anyones.

Okay, in last night’s episode, who else had to rewind and go “WTF??” when Myka walked into Tia Carrere’s office right after Tia got shot? Didn’t see that coming.

And does anyone want to speculate about how Claudia is planning her death to involve David Bowie?

And, as always, I am madly in love with Artie. I should just make that my sig.

We did, twice even - best twist ever - kept trying to figure out what all the tapping was about - thougth maybe the Master was approaching.

Still a little annoyed at the resolution -

Why didn’t they just tesla Pete and then deal with fixing his brain once he was under control without a weapon?

But then, that would be too easy I guess.

I’m still not sure exactly what they did to Pete at the end there; it looked like Artie (with whom I’m madly in love, did I mention?) tesla’d him through a car window, but then he blathered something about “visual and auditory stimulation” and I was a bit confused. Hopefully they’ll have the commentary podcast out in a few days and it’ll make more sense.

Yeah, I didn’t get that.

In other news, I just finished getting all caught up on Eureka. It looks like they’re in an alternate timeline at the moment, so it seems like the crossover episodes are taking place in a timestream that may disappear?

Does anyone here watch Warehouse 13 but not Eureka? I could have a mod add Eureka to the title.

I love Warehouse. Last night I was getting all perturbed about how the episode was weird, nobody was acting right. I thought it had a different director or something. What a twist!

I don’t watch Eureka, though. It bores me for some reason.

Technically, the driver died as they pulled up to the Warehouse, so maybe Artie made it up to her by giving her a lift. Not to be cold, but I suspect that Artie is a little more valuable on the ole’ Warehouse org chart than the driver as well.

When BirdMan and I watch this and Psych we love to be “smarter than the show” and figure out the plot twists and endings and all that. So it was with much glee that we "WTF???"ed when Myka barged in on Tia Carrere in her office. That was awesome.

It was a polarised tinted window.

Even so, they ought to have used morse code as a solution, I think.

So it was Tia Carrere! I thought so.

Simster, along those lines, why, at the very beginning

did they rush the guy in the museum? One of them said that the museum didn’t know it was missing, which meant that he was putting it back between uses. And he was in fact putting it back just after that. Wouldn’t it have been a lot smarter to let him put it back and leave rather than confront him while he was holding the damn thing??

My DVR cut off. Dammit. I’ll have to try and catch a re-run.

I have watched a handful of Eureka eps - it’s okay, but a little blah. I think there are too many focus characters for me to care about what anyone’s doing.
