Yeah, Chris, I realize I was out of line earlier in the thread, which is why I directed you to my post to Sara where I apologized for losing my temper in this thread and why I want to stop arguing. In your last post you said that in this case we’ll just have to wait, but that people should be allowed to question the mods… that’s my position, too. I never said that questioning the mods was wrong… just that repeating the question wasn’t going to get anyone anywhere in this case.

Apologies from me on this and the other. It wasn’t at all clear to me that you were joking. The “dead to rights” comment sounded, to me, bitterly sarcastic, instead of chucklingly sarcastic.
I apologize for including that quote. It was directed at Esprix, and I knew that. I honestly could not tell you why I added it to the bunch, but in retrospect, it was a mistake, and I’m sorry. I have a Golden Rule about not venturing into the Pit past midnight (hell, I’m ready for bed right now) and I broke it - my foul.
Yue Han - I’m never interested in a name-calling match. But I will say that I know I included your post about sniping for a reason. I understood that you were being sarcastic, but when relative newbies are asking why warmgun got banned, and you post the comment that I quoted, then it followed (in my mind, at least) that posters not so familiar with the Board might think that they can’t post certain things. I know what you meant, but when posters are reading this and express concern that saying the wrong thing might get them banned, a comment like yours could lead to some misconceptions about the way things are run.
As for Stoid’s comment, I found it very ominous and even threatening to a degree. That’s why I included it; I can see how her words would lead to paranoia and concern from other posters, and I don’t think that’s at all necessary in this situation.
I think it’s important in this situation to not go on heresay and rumors. I’ve gotten an e-mail from warmgun that somewhat explained his position. Am I ready to swtich sides in this battle? Absolutely not. I processed what he said, I’m interested in hearing what a Mod has to say, and then I’ll make a decision based on that. But all we have right now is rumors and opinions. IMHO, it’s pointless to argue a side if you don’t understand the opposing standpoint. So if everyone would hold off on their judgement calls until we do get both sides, there would be peace and harmony and posters everywhere would rejoice.
Hopefully that all made sense; if not, it’s because I’m sleepy and I spent most of the day at a Dopefest. I’ll check back tomorrow and try to clarify my position if I wasn’t coherent.

It’s been pointed out in this thread that WG has angered members in the past. Well, whoop-de-goddam-do! People in this thread have GREATLY angered others. There are a lot of “fuck yous” and “eat mes” flying around here. Damn near everyboby that logs a post in The Pit pisses someone off. I will state again - I don’t know why he was banned - but all of you that are acting like experts, do what I did. Go back and read some of his posts. He might have have pissed off a couple of people here and there, but so what? I maintain that that is not trouble.
And as far as his brush with the mods is concerned, I’ve already pointed out it appears as though they worked it out.

Except, well, it’s all relative. And that’s the only point I’m trying to make. I don’t think he (WG) did anything that any number of us has done before, some off us MUCH more agregiously that others. But for some reason it appears he got held to a different standard.
I’m not saying the mods have to grade on a curve - they don’t - but it makes for a funky situation when they don’t. Still, all the facts are not in and I’m content to wait for them if/when they come before I make my final judgement. I’m just asking all to do the same.

Well, leaving aside the klutsy speculations by people who aren’t me about what I might or might not have meant or done or whom I might or might not have e-mailed, isn’t it common knowledge that such matters as these are not hung out like laundry by the admins in public? Haven’t we always been asked to correspond by e-mail on such matters? You people didn’t just fall off the truck here. You know the deal. If Tuba banned someone, they were being a jerk. Period. Trust Tuba. She’s more trustworthy and just than the rest of us put together.
If you disagree, I would ask you for one shred of evidence that Tuba has ever been unreasonable. Just one. Otherwise, why not just shut up about it and go on about our business?
