What’s that?

LOL. I did say “quasi”.

Calvin is a fine wideout. I suppose with his height and leaping ability you can just throw it in his general direction and you’ve got a 50/50 shot at either a reception or an INT.

Calvin is a freak of nature, but he needs to learn the art of being a receiver, not just catching the ball.

The Detroit Free press seems to be pushing for the Lions to draft a QB at number 1. The same article suggests Orlavsky is a reasonable pro QB. We have a crap load of draft choices . Wonder what Leaf is doing now?

For the love of god why? The last thing the lions need to do now is waste a draft pick on a QB. From everything I’ve seen it takes a QB on a decent team a couple years to mature. Putting a rookie QB behinds the lions line is suicide. IMHO the lions need to stop trying to draft superstars. When has that worked out to their advantage. Right now we have culpepper who played ok considering his circumstances and orlovsky who could be decent one day. Kevin Smith is putting up ok numbers behind a horrible O line. Calvin Johnson is going to be a stud and while Furrey and Mcdonald are not elite level recievers they catch fine and don’t hamper the team. In my dream scenario the Lions trade or spend those draft picks on a solid line and a competent defense. The team needs to stop chasing stars and pick up a solid core of good not superstar players.

I agree. The problem is by the time a new QB breaks in,assuming he actually does, Calvin will become a free agent and be gone. If we protect our QB and make holes for running all we be well.
We have drafted DBs for speed the last few seasons. They may be pretty good but who can cover for 7 seconds. They look worse than they are.We need a couple pass rushers.
Then we need a stable coaching environment. The only thing consistent in our coaches is their last names start with M. I don’t care if they stick with Marinelli.A lot of receivers are not smart enough to relearn routes and schemes every couple years.

The Lions are down 28 to 7 at the half. It is becoming more doable . Time to print up your Owen shirt with number 16 on it.

The first snap of the second half ,the Lions called a time out. 12 in the huddle.

15 minutes of halftime isn’t nearly enough time to prepare for the next play, silly.

I don’t know if it’s easier listening to them lose or watching. We suck.

They got a penalty for too much time…after a time out. This is impossible. Saints 5 possessions,5 touchdowns.

6 for 6

I picked the wrong week to give up glue.

6 touchdowns.

I can’t believe they gave Welker a penalty for making a snow angel after a touchdown.

I think you’re referring to the wrong blowout. This thread is dedicated to the Lions’ quest for historical ineptitude.

ETA watching this Pats-Cards game is like watching the rape scene from Irreversible, though. I’m starting to wonder if the Pats can score 60.

Hey a stop. woohoo.

Stanton in, Calvin out.

Hey, sorry, thought it was a general thread.

If it’s any consolation, as a Bills fan I feel great sympathy for the Lions.

Nothing to be sorry about. Just giving you the skinny. I don’t think anybody really cares about a little thread drift anyway.

I’m personally a Vikings fan, but even as a division rival, I can’t help feeling bad for Lions fans.
