Both of those are in Texas. The one in Arizona is the third case. We are truly screwed. Thanks musk.
Back with more coffee…Lily add my good thoughts for your lovely wife’s lowered pain levels and I hope she recovers quickly.
Can you rent one? And someone to run it for you?
Have you tried pulling the stumps out with your jeep? I’ve pulled bushes out with one in the past, but I wasn’t worried about tearing things up with the tires.
You need to see your eye doctor once a year. They can see all sorts of health and medical issues by looking at the back of your eyeball even if your vision doesn’t change.
You might not want to go back out, its 80F already here and I know our weather is pretty much the same. We are looking at a high of 90 and 60% chance of thunderstorms. So hot and muggy, a good day to stay inside and stitch.
Class whine: I can’t find my microphone. This won’t be a class where I can type questions, the instructor will be looking at her canvas, not her email. I could borrow Hub’s, but I KNOW I have one in my room somewhere, I used it for last years class. Maybe borrowing a mic and hooking it up would make the missing one disappear but I probably have to actually buy a new one to make that work.
I was loading Bottom Red/Middle Yellow on the 100 today. 7 cars, and not too heavy, but the spacing and extra package car meant I was running 9 car lengths between first and last one. It was a short sort, but I was pooped by the end of it. It was already 89 degrees Ferret Height(31.667 Centipedes) at 0900. I filled up Carmen, and did my Aldi run. On the way home there was a Silverado in front of me with a “Jesus is Lord” and “Kiss my bass” sticker on the rear window. Which do together, because I could see The Lord smacking a Pharisee upside the head with a wet trout. They turned off the water again for repairs, but I did get my shower in, and refilled the Brita pitcher.
I had to rescue a Daddy long legs from the tub, lest he go down the spout.

I just have the regular doc. And all I take are Vit D(since I seldom see sun), and generic Nexium for the acid reflux.
Spot had a dry heave. He still got yeeted off the sectional, to be sure.
Afternoon, mumpers! It’s currently 16c/60f with no predicted change, and cloudy. Weather app says “Nobody is going to the fucking beach today. Well, except for fucking weirdos looking for treasure.”
I have a GP, an optician and a dentist. The GP and optician aren’t specific, when I need to see someone, I’ll see whoever’s available. My dentist and hygienist are the same two ladies. I have nothing on prescription (galling, because I’m old enough for everything to be free now) either.
Lily sending good thoughts to your lovely wife for reduced pain levels too.
Knots that’s a lot of pills every day, I hope they are doing good work for you!
It’s been a busy one today. I logged in early and fixed a couple of issues before TM had the chance to mess them up. Tended to the needs of cats and got myself showered before having breakfast. I worked all morning, then had a trip to the supermarket at lunchtime to do the grocery shopping. Back to irk all afternoon and I’ve just logged out for the day. I’m having an hour to myself, then I need to feed the cats and head off to the gym for a spin class. 'im indoors is cooking tonight so no idea what we’re having for dinner!
pcp, dentist, allergist, podiatrist, and wills eye. 3 pills, stomach, bp, statin; injections are allergy shots, and the best thing in the world dupixent. goodness, is that a wonder drug.
y’all were very busy over the weekend. mollie, i’m glad you had a wonder pride event and lovely outfit. shoe, yummy cupcakes! happy birthday.
after the usual shopping trip on saturday, i hid in the flat mostly reading all weekend. stayed up 'til 3am to finish “murder your employer”. not doing too badly after 3-4 hours sleep.
this morning i got up 10 minutes early and decided to “take it there now” with the compost and recycling. this threw off my usual routine enough that i forgot the office keycard. luckily i figured this out just as the shuttle was leaving the condo. i got off, dropped my stuff in the lobby and when i got the key card it turned out i also forgot my wallet. i then decided to take another bit of recycling downstairs as i had a half hour until the next shuttle. lager slept through all this, koritza did lift a sleepy head and look at me.
thankfully things are going well after this odd start. i’m not going to do that again.
Hello again, the car’s gas tank is full (33.45mpg) and so is my belly after the Jersey Mike’s #3, some Pringles, and a banana. The tunder-boomers have been moved back to about 2-4pm, so I’ll plan my gym time for then. Otherwise sloth will probably reign supreme.
JtC, yeah, looking at the Weather Underground map, looks like the storms will be scattered around West Virginny, so it’s an “In’shallah” day I suspect most of you know, but Inshalla is Arabic for “As God wills it”, used mostly when the future is not known… And you should know that as soon as you borrow and hook up the replacement mike the other one will immediately become obvious…
Taters, I’m with JtC on this one; having regular checkups is not a bad thing, waiting for something to go wrong may not be the best option…but if it works for you, well, In’Shallah…
rocky, nice to know someone else forgets things. For me it has been my car keys, can have everything else I need all set and get to the car and…back in the house to get the keys.
wet one, let us know how the movie was, I haven’t been to a movie theater in years, and I bet the free popcorn and pop are the most minuscule sizes they have…
And need to do a little house-irk then over to the gym for the daily sweatage.
I have to agree with this. Check-ups are considered preventive care, so are fully covered by insurance. I often think back to Warren Zevon. Shortly before he died, he quipped that his strategy of avoiding the doctor at all costs did not work out after all.
I spent another 90-ish minutes transplanting iris and day lilies, including dumping 3 bags of mulch around the transplants. But I’m done. It’s still in the 70s here and overcast, so I wasn’t getting sunned upon. We’re maybe going to hit 80, but no rain in the forecast till maybe Weds. So I’ve got the sprinkler oscillating between the 2 lines of transplants. I took a couple of pics.
FCD had his Dr appt a few hours after mine. He’s supposed to get an MRI of his spine - I’m glad he listens to Christine if not to me. His pain may never go away, but there may well be something that can help lessen it. I suggested as much, but, well, you know… Meanwhile, I’ve scheduled my mammogram in a couple of weeks.
Speaking of FCD, he’s disinclined to go to the boat today, so I count that as a win. He really needs to take it easy, but that’s often a losing battle. We’ll see if he changes his mind - I hope not. Oh, I hear my recliner calling!!
I take mine in the evening, which offers much better odds that I’m awake enough to remember to do so and that I have enough in my stomach to prevent nausea from taking a multi-vitamin on an empty stomach.
I do similarly, just to get the whole thing done quickly. Also helps prevent a certain klepto kitten from getting her paws on something potentially toxic to kitties. It’s bad enough trying to refill my pill sorter each week with her “help”.
They provide printouts. But I’ll have to choose this year. Pictures of the colonoscopy, or scans from the mammogram scheduled the following day? Those will be on the hospital app.
No beer in the house, so I got a can on the way home. Forgot that I can’t use self-checkout with alcohol, so I got the red light and red screen. Manager came over and took care of. But didn’t ask for ID. Hmph.
Until my ovaries were removed, I only took a D3 vitamin 2 or 3 times a week. Afterwards my PCP started me on calcium. And last week my gyn started me on hormone therapy - gel and capsule. It’s all so complicated. (Relatively.)
Besides the PCP (yearly, or more often) and gyn (18 months), I have a dentist (every year), ophthalmologist (every 2 years), ENT (5 year checkup this year), and gastroenterologist (every 5 years). I think that’s it.
Since I can’t eat the strawberries which are ripening, I just sliced them up to put in the freezer for later use. Might be some strawberry milkshakes later this month.
I got a bottle of wine on Sunday, and had some young whippersnapper minding the self-checkout automatically ask ‘Are you over 18?’ look at me, laugh and walk off. I felt like shaking my walking stick at him, except for the not having one… Hmph.
I don’t have any prescription pills yet, personally. I take a daily antihistamine because it does seem to help stop my eczema flaring up and I take a daily vitamin D in winter, because this is Scotland. I have managed to get a dentist and optician since moving here, but it’s been checkups only so far.
The bush covered in bees is even more covered in bees today, and there’s fledgling birdies all over the place. I keep getting distracted by a pair of young magpies which are getting all curious about next door’s guttering. They’re currently picking bits of moss out of it and dropping them off the roof, watching it fall in fascination. Magpies are a bit of a plague round here, but they are fun to watch.
It fits, but doesn’t look as good as I had hoped. I’m actually a bit disappointed. This sort of thing never disappointed me before. I think I may be a bit “girly.”
Howdy Y’all! We got back just a bit ago from geezer sup at Sonny’s. We wanted to go and get back to da cave before irk traffic started. 'Twas good and I have a full and happy tummy. It’s cloudy and hawt out! I wish the possible rain would show up. Thus is the news from swampland.
How is it Monday again? The weekend went by too fast (it always does though). Work had a celebration/team-building activity this afternoon at Top Golf. It feels like 105 F (41C) outside - no way in hell was I joining in on that. So I stayed at work and came home a bit ago.
Recipe please??
Lily I’m glad your wife is feeling better! Hopefully she’s over the worst of it now.
100% agree - I posted about it in last week’s MMP, it’s the only thing that finally got my asthma under control after the worst flare-up I’ve ever had in my life.
FCM I’m not sure you accurately described all of the gardening and housework you do if the doctor thinks you need still more exercise! You are always on the go. Also, I hope he gets answers from the MRI.
After a full day of meetings where I didn’t get anything done, home now, where Ms Peach has successfully lost her ball under a filing cabinet, and is squeaking at it.
Another day of meetings tomorrow. How TF am I supposed to do the stuff talked about in meetings when I’m always in meetings? Leemee 'lone, so’s I can actually do some shit.
Sis and BIL got home around 1400, so I harnessed Nelson up, loaded the car and came home. I think Nelson’s glad to his hooman to himself again.
I need to hit the grocery store tomorrow. I also need to TCB by phone for several things. The day I do laundry, I’ll hook up the new desktop and printer.
Evening all. The predicted rain threatened but never showed up, mostly stayed south of my location. Gym sweatage was done and Mickey D’s provided the evening nourishment. At home now and no plans to be elsewhere until tomorrow.
Thinking about taking a July driving trip up to Cedar Point Park, I haven’t been there in probably 35 years and I’ve lost enough weight that I can probably get into the rollercoaster cars alright. Spend another day around my old home grounds in Ohio and then do Mammoth Cave on the way back. Just need to get around to booking the hotels
FCM, looking at the pictures, it’s shaping up rather nicely there. And I hope Mr. Pigheaded…I mean FCD, listens to his Doc.
Wet one, then you really did get a bargain, given the concession costs at movie houses these days. And may go see a movie, thanks for the comment.
VanGo, the overlordship of the bureaucrat outweighs all the creativity in the world…unfortunately.
red, welcome home.
And probably go watch some basketball here in a bit. Catch y’all on 2sDay.
Mrs Magill is at a PFLAG meeting at our church this evening. She texted me a little while ago asking how much she could say. I told her to share whatever she felt comfortable sharing, since I assume PFLAG is like AlAnon, where confidence is assured. I hope it helps her.
Related news, one of the folks on the Discord has offered to talk with me about how they made sure their transition worked for their wife as well as themself. I’ll talk with them at the next meeting Saturday.
