Heh, a quarter liter of vodka isn’t really that much. I think that’s about what I have each evening if I’m not drinking beer.
Isn’t that the equivalent of six standard drinks (1.5 oz each X 6 = 9 oz = 266 ml =~ quarter liter)?
My doctor describes “heavy drinker” at half that amount for someone my size (200 lbs)
More like three doubles, I guess. I don’t measure, but I buy 1.75 Liter bottles of Nikolai and a bottle lasts about a week. Weekends I drink primarily beer at breweries. Weeknights it’s vodka at home.
I’m recovering from a gout flare up that happened secondary to extensor tendonitis in my left foot. I stopped drinking cold turkey in an attempt to address my gout. No problems whatsoever!
I have no idea as to how much money it is, but Hunter Biden is listed as one of the entities to whom Rudy owes money.
It’s probably the invoice for the laptop repair.
I believe it’s part of the lawsuit Hunter brought against him.
If I’m mathing right, that’s about 8 shots of vodka a night. You’re cool with pickling your liver and dying of cirrhosis, right? We’ll miss you, because you’re awesome, but it’s your body and your life.
I’m enjoying my life. If someone told me I could add two years to my life expectancy by stopping drinking I wouldn’t even consider it.
That’s totally fair, although not the choice I’d make. (Then again, I have 7-15 drinks a week, which is way more than many people choose).
I actually cut back a bit when I switched from beer to vodka (mostly for calorie concerns). I dropped 25 pounds, have been walking a few miles each day, and feel great. But I enjoy a nightcap in the evening and love visiting breweries.
Pennsylvania’s medical marijuana program means that I can smoke as much as I want, which also reduces my alcohol intake a bit.
Cheers!
Are the 1.75’s still called “handles” even if they don’t have a handle? In younger days that wouldn’t last me a week.
I looked up Nikolai and ugh, Seagrams owns it.
When I lived in St. Petersburg the vodka to drink (not necessarily the best) was Ру́сский Станда́р - Russian Standard. I liked when I could find it in the USA too. I read because of Putin’s war you can no longer get the stuff in the rest of the world (Maybe China and Best Korea).
I like how the russian word for vodka: ‘voda’ is the same word as water. All depends of the context.
ETA: I wrote this is a Guiliani thread? Sorry! I guess all that talk about Churchill - whom at least Orson Welles had high praise for - got me off thread.
Back to the thread: How does Rudy have 10 million in assets and up to 500 million in debt? Is that mostly sweet-deal mortgages he’s collected since he read all of Trump’s great books?
nitpick: Ру́сский Станда́рт /nitpick
Could you put that in terms that the common man would understand? I mean, like, if you poured that into a pint glass what would that look like?
Just like water.
Had an electrician once that brought his own water in a mason jar with a lid. Because, he said that he did not trust any other ‘water’ but his own.
Ooookaaay.
His work was alright but he was a weird guy.
It is good!
I have a glass like you’d be served orange juice in. Six ounce glass maybe? I fill that halfway with vodka, then pour a splash of lemon juice in. I drink that and then another.
Cheers!
I think that discussions of alcohol are completely on topic in a thread about rudy.
As I understood it, Churchill would pour himself a stiff drink in the morning (he liked to begin work while still in bed), but would refresh it with water throughout the day.
Giuliani? Not so much. One of my favorite interviews was the one where the author pointed out that the drunken rudy had his zipper down.
The entire piece has some real gems.
Disgusting.
