See it here.
I guess they realized it was out so they may as well put out a clean copy of it. I see the hint of a good movie here but of course it is chock full of Dark Brooding Broodiness. Some hope please?

Do we have any information on what the plot is going to be - is it going to roughly follow The Dark Knight Returns? The Batman logo very much mirrors Frank Miller’s Batman logo - fatter and a little squatter (is that a word?). But maybe that’s just to get the Superman logo on top of it.
so what are they supposed to do to turn Superman into a bad guy?
Well, I hope it doesn’t follow TDKR. There’s not enough set up for that.
I fully support the way they handle the reaction to Superman. The chattering class will - of course - try to tear him down with doubts. How he handles it is the interesting part.
The nice thing about this trailer is, you don’t really know whom you’re supposed to root for. It’s refreshing to see a big movie doesn’t have a clear-cut hero and villain.
Batman looks like he’s wearing an armored cowl near the end. This was what was wearing when he fought Supes in The Dark Knight Returns. If they’re not going to follow it, they’re certainly borrowing from it.
I suspect that all it will have in common with TDKR is that Superman and Batman are at odds (at least for a while). This is a Superman movie after all. It looks like it is more about the skeptical reaction the world has to him.
I find myself cheering slightly for a depiction of Batman (well, an implied one, who the hell know what the movie will end up being like) that hints that he is deeply angry and inclined to cruelty in vast over-reaction to his childhood feeling of helplessness. The relatively friendly and stable Batman portrayals since… well, always… don’t mesh at all with the kind of personality that would go all costumed vigilante in the first place.
I was thinking the same thing. I hope there is at least some levity in the movie.
As I commented elsewhere, on seeing the leaked version of the trailer, “Well, gosh, who didn’t think that Superman movies should look more like Alien 3??”
Now if they can just have Supes kill the majority of the population of Gotham - having done a bang up job of massacring everyone in Metropolis in the first movie - everything will be perfect!
I have to admit a more “real” reaction to a man with god like power is an interesting story to tell but hopefully by the end we have a recognizable Superman.
Hey, isn’t Wonder Woman supposed to be in this movie?
No mention of her at all.
She’s more of an extended cameo. And I suspect her role will be to intervene and make the boys behave.
Gail Simone (former WW writer) says she’s gotten word that she’s actually really awesome in the movie.
They likely don’t want to ruin that too early.
I’ve seen a majority of the DC animated movies and Superman, Batman, and WW tend to be stern, serious characters, maybe cracking a joke in the very beginning or end of the movie but otherwise being about as jovial as a brick wall. A lot of the stories are grim and don’t particularly lend themselves to yucks. Like in the The Dark Knight Returns movie for example
the Joker runs around the fair grounds gunning down random civilians with a pistol and then after Batman beats the shit out of him the Joker kills himself in the hopes the cops will blame Batman…and that’s just the set up.
Not exactly the Laugh Factory.
And Aquaman and Cyborg and possibly (according to IMDB) Flash. But this is the first teaser for a movie still a year away.
The Flash is going to be in this movie? Are they trying to do what Agents of SHIELD did, and tie in the TV show with the movie?
Nope. The movie and TV universes are separate. There’ll be an entirely different adaptation of the Flash for the movies. They’ve already cast Ezra Miller. He isn’t in Batman v Superman, though.
I like how they cast Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, but had Kevin James play Batman. He really is a working-man’s hero.
Yeah, as well as the kid in *Gotham *is **not **going to grow up to be Ben Affleck…
It’s as bad as I feared it would be. It’s just going to be a stupid punch up that we’ve seen a thousand times before.
The key to Superman is to have smart villains who know not to fight him directly. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a smart villain in a comic book movie since . . . Damn, I can’t think of one.
