At least in terms of uniforms. The league is really popular right now, and the owners are raking in the cash, but any of the money that comes from the ugly merchandise is tainted. What in the world is going on with the uniforms? Monochrome? Does anyone like this look? Who decided it would be a good idea? The “third color” jerseys? The Browns wearing orange jerseys? The Bears wearing orange jerseys? When did the Bears ever wear orange jerseys? In 1994 the “throwback” uniforms – worn before throwbacks were cool – were OK, because of the novelty. Now it just seems like marketing gone crazy.
You’re joking, right?
You had to love the Dolphins throwback jerseys. Dear Gawd. I’ve just recently stopped rubbed the burn balm into my eyes from those.
Yeah, last week it kinda looked like the Dallas Cowboys against the Chicago Doritos.
How about Big Blue turning into Big Red? Where did the Giants get that jersey from?
I guess that would explain why I’ve never seen any color photos of past Bears teams in the orange jerseys. :smack: But still, there’s a reason the team stopped wearing them.
Kid_A, those were another one I was going to mention. Those just looked silly. It’s a marketing ploy and it’s getting out of hand.
This might seem petty, but does anyone else think the “NFL Equipment” shield on the collar of the jerseys looks stupid? I thought it was OK when it was the NFL shield by itself, but then Reebok had to make sure everyone knows who makes the jerseys. That will keep me from ever buying an NFL jersey. How long before the NFL decides to sell ad space on the uniforms?
Oh, duh. I couldn’t figure out why the hell the Broncos were in orange again. I wondered if I missed something.
Apparently, I had.
Well that’s one more mystery solved…
You know everything is topsy-turvy in the NFL when the Bucs are the only team whose uniforms don’t get made fun of.
-RNATB, sort of proud owner of an orange '95 Bucs jersey.
But Calvin’s dad said that everything was still in black & white back then…
