Okay, bj0rn… would it make you feel better if I said “God bless our country” rather than “God bless America?” I’m not from your Utopian Iceland and couldn’t possibly under the semantics of my native language, a language that you’re so fluent in that you make frequent spelling mistakes.

Your spelling is insulting: to any intelligent life that may exist in Iceland, which brings us back to PapaBear’s initial question.

I seem to have derected some new foolowers to this page and I like seeing them work Papabear back into action…

In the month I’ve been absent I checked with the USA consulate in Iceland and found that they actually rather nice poeple who did not, in any respect, like Papabears posts. They actually got very upset and were going to forward the matter to whomevery it may concern back in the States.

They, like me, did not feel that this sort of comments represented the American state of mind and felt it depreesing to know that this man actually tought children back in the states.

SO Papabear keep up the good work, if you still got one!!!

Thorinmyside, PapaBear should’ve been a little more specific. The best bars to go to share your views are not in the big cities like Denver or Colorado Springs. Go to a bar in one of the smaller towns (plenty of them in CO) and share your views with the locals there.

first of all, please do not yell at us for being bad at the english language. when i originally said you should be offended by all spellig mistakes i made, it was meant to create reactions hopefully towards the conclucion that you would realize english is a second (academically speaking the third, because we started learning danish before we started learning english) language, and making yourself understood in a second(third)
language is much more difficult than it is in your native language. i would now like to point out i am glad we are all intelligent beings who do not personally attack each other, just because of different opinions and language. i mean, where is the intelligence in that? i consider war a stupid thing, i consider violence a stupid thing, something the bigger and stronger resort to when all else fails. referring to me as a flea proves me right there, and i find that statement to stupid to reply to, unless naturally you want to acknowledge the fact that you have been outsmarted by a flea :). complaining about it wont do either because as the famed comedians in monty python said so brilliantly: “an argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a propersition”. not just futile attack on other persons in the hope that they get so offended they will run away. afther that you wont be able to speak to anyone intelligent enough to establish anything. you just have stupid contradiction.

I prefer if you posted it in ENGLISH, instead of gibberish. If you want to engage in debate, you should be able to express your position clearly and consisely. I wouldn’t try to post to an Icelandic board unless I was fluent in your language. It would be counterproductive.

For the record, I never said that only English speaking people were intelligent. Putting words in my mouth won’t win arguements, either.

Bjorn, I also speak other languages with some competence. So I respect your understanding of English.

The problem is that your English is very hard to understand. When arguing a point on this board, you need a high level of competency in English. Even some native speakers on this board sometimes have trouble conveying a cogent idea.

Perhaps your english skills would improve if you were to join an English as a Second Language chat site.

I don’t have any idea what you’re trying to say, either bj0rn (If you even remotely share the views of your countryman, Thorliefur, that’s probably a good thing). I would suggest that you seek out an Icelander with better command of English than yourself and have him help you compose your posts. Otherwise, you just come off sounding like an imbecile.

By the way, to the left of the “Z” key is a key that says “Shift”. Try using that for starters.

If the above sounds like too much work, please just post in Icelandic from now on. At least, that way, one or two people might be able to understand what you are saying.
