Confirmed! The SDMB HouDope Society has a heartbeat!

Proposed: A gathering of the HouDopes on the weekend of May 3rd, which will be about the right interval since our last round-up in February and will be neatly timed to toast Ayesha and LionSOB’s 25th anniversary and (does she vanity search?) maybe attendee Zyada’s birthday (and, er, [sub]cough, cough[/sub], mine, too).

The second weekend in May is problematic, as that is the weekend of the Chicago gathering. But the third weekend’s a possibility if the first doesn’t work for enough folks.

Let’s hear it. Check in, HouDopes!

Damn. There are many, many times I wish I was living down in Houston, and this is definitely one of them.

I might be in Dallas that weekend for a Magic the Gathering Tournament, but if not I will be there. More details to follow.

Good weekend. Flugtag in Austin is April 26. Art Car weekend is May 9. Nicely tucked in for me.

I’ll be there, unless I get thrown in Jail, or something.

I am coming back from Europe on the 9th and my local motorcycle club rally is the weekend of the 19th, but I will follow this thread and if I am in town I WILL be there, the last one was a good time.

I have to check on a couple of potential conflicts, but this first weekend in May is better than the third (end of school crashdown going on then).

I’m going to suggest the deck at Joe’s Crab Shack on Richmond. We’ve done it there before and it worked out. The food was good, the weather ought to be OK in that first weekend in May, they kept all the Joe’s-Crab-Shack silliness inside, it works for smokers and non-smokers alike, it’s reasonably centrally located and the under 21 age thing is not an issue.

I’ll go further and suggest early afternoon on Saturday, the 3rd. 2:00? 3:00? Feedback?

I know they have food I can eat at Joe’s (sorry about the thing at the place in Austin, but I eat like one meal a day and REALLY needed food, and they didn’t have anything I could eat there). I will try to make it but it will really depend on how much my paycheque is this week or if I sell anything before then, as I’m kind of broke at the moment. But I’ll try. Depending on how hot/sunny it is I might not be able to stay outside too long.

The first weekend in May would be best for me also. Not that anyone really cares, or even know who I am. But I will really plan on attending this time. No, really I will.

I’m about 99% certain that I can make either the first or second weekend in May. In fact, the first weekend may be a bit better since it’ll be just after I move back in with the parents and finish my semester. However, I’m flexible on which weekend and the time (although I have to say I like the idea of early dinner/late lunch).

If anyone needs a ride from the Cypress area, I’d be happy to provide one.
